Those are the 102nd, 37th and 62nd-ranked offenses you're grouping us with. In Norman, you'll be facing the 9th-best offense in the country (we'll probably be ranked higher than that, actually, after Saturday's games) in only your second road game of the season.

This...it ain't intramurals...these are the Sooners and they are going to be the toughest game you have had by far to date

I understand. Great offense you have. Norman is a tough place to play much less win. That is why these guys come to ND, to play in these types of games all around the country. Navy in Ireland wasn't a home game for us (assuming you meant we have only played @ MSU). If it's the travel that worries you, I'm sure our guys will be ok with the distance. It will definitely be a tough place to get a W for ND. You guys will probably be favored, as well. I just wish our offense could get moving more consistantly. We have a lot of weapons, and some are just young. They will click, soon I hope. One huge thing for you guys is your senior QB against our RS freshman QB. I could see you guys winning, but not as easy as some might think.

  • This game is going to be hard fought by both teams. I'd be surprised if it is a blowout by either team. ND has a damn good defense no doubt about it. I for one won't under estimate them. I'm sure that both teams won't have any problems getting up for this one. If OU continues to improve the way they have the last two weeks, they can play with and beat any team in the country. And yes, I include Alabama.

Let's hope that the ND fans will be treated like the way the Alabama fans were treated the last time they played in Norman. I've heard from a lot of people from both schools how classy each other fans were treated and a lot of new friendships were made. And when OU traveled to Alabama they returned the favor or should I say respect each fan base had for each other. You have to admit, there's really only a handful of teams in the country with the storied programs that OU and ND have.

I was at the OU-ND game in South Bend in 1999, and we were treated well there, for the most part. I trust most OU fans will be on good behavior next week.

And I do think it should be a hard-fought, competitive game. I think ND fans are underestimating the Sooners (or, perhaps, over-estimating the teams they've beaten to date), but I doubt their players are doing the same.

  • ND has never seen or will ever see again a up tempo offense like OU has. I know, they think they can keep up with us. I hope they have good depth because I expect them to be out of gas after the 3rd or 4th drive. Another thing is ND defense might be good but they dont match up very good with OU. they have size, we have speed. Speed kills. And the OU giddy up creats a lot of mismatches because we can move people around without substituting.

  • Mark May on ESPN just said OU will deliver a beat down on ND next weekend and he said again " I mean a beat down!". Now I am worried! Like that he thinks we will but usually when he makes a emphatic statement like that for us it don't always turn out so well.

May and Coach Lou have been going back and forth on CFL the last few weeks. May hasn't been impressed with ND by any means. And, Lou...well, it's no surprise that he's in love with his former team. I'm sure May thinks OU will win, but he's probably adding the "beat down" statement for emphasis to get at Holtz for the viewers.

You obviously don't know our defense. We have a lot of speed and are 2 deep. Our only worry is inexperienced DBs but they are playing better than expected. You must not have seen our 6'6" 303lb d-lineman pick up a fumble, out run a QB and a RB, for a 70 yrd TD. It's been nice rushing QBs with 4, and sometimes just 3 guys.

FWIW Mark May has picked against us every game, and so far he is 0-6.

  • Lou Holtz made some disparaging comments about Mark Mays Pitt Panthers getting beat by some weak teams and I'm sure he's trying to get back at Lou by not picking ND on their show since he knows how Lou loves ND. BTW, he picked BYU to beat ND this weekend also.

While I have a lot of respect for ND's defense, especially the front seven, I hope they're not delusional and think that they will shut out OU. We simply have too many weapons for that to happen. Your db's had better be ready because they're going to be tested early and often. OU has a plethora of receivers and there's a chance the best one just got eligible last week. I'm sure that the o-line is going to be challenged by the coaches to get the run game going and to protect Landry. And on the defense, OU's front seven are starting to come along like we'd hope for at the beginning of the season and the db's are pretty salty in their own right. I see a dog fight in this one with OU coming out on top.

I will try to ignore predictions like that. You need to know that we respect good opponents and look forward to playing you guys and you are very welcome to hang out over here and talk a little friendly smack and I promise their will be some smack...lol
