While the timeout was not a good move, coaching has been really good this season. I really like the belldozer and how they came up with it to solve a glaring problem. Our DB play has been much improved the last few years. The change to the run scheme has made a difference. Remember all the penalties the last couple of years? The staff has done a great job getting rid of them. This was the most penalties I think we've had all year. Every team has penalties, but we've been one of the best this year and that's a big change.
I really like Josh as an OC and think he's getting a lot better at calling plays.
Are there problems? Yes. But, the coaches have stepped up the last couple of years and made bold changes.
The biggest problem is the inconsistency of our defense. I think we need to change defensive philosophy. The complicated schemes are hit and miss. We can dominate at times, but at times make mistakes and give up huge plays. The Alabama and LSU types of defense are more simple and use player talent and master of fundamentals. Our team needs to learn how to always wrap up, hit low, drive through the ballcarrier. And they need to learn pursuit angles. If they do that, we won't need as many complicated defenses. Don't allow big plays, play good coverage, be in the right places, and make the tackles. Be consistent in the fundamentals and you won't lose many games, even the ones where your team is just snake-bitten (like vs TT).
We do that, everything changes.
Remember, we shouldn't even have had a shot because of the players we lost. It's only because of the great depth we have that we could even have a prayer. Injuries have killed us this year. Pure and simple.
Remember, we are just one headcoaching change away from going back to where we were in the 90's. How many coaching changes in the FBS have turned out well? Think about it? Even seemingly sure things! There aren't but a few head coaches that have turned out the level of Bob Stoops.

I didn't have a problem with the time out. We should have been able to get the stop. I'm just curious why Javon Harris was left in the game. It got old watching him chasing receivers into the endzone......even on the TD's that got called back, dropped, and slightly overthrown.
Sooner fans should take a step back and realize how spoiled a fan base we truly are.

Absolutely! I completely stand behind that statement. Do you remember the pathetic corner play we had in the several years prior? I was beginning to wonder when we'd ever get corners who could cover a receiver. Then we got Brian jackson, Dom Franks, Fleming, Hurst, and Colvin! They are all MUCH better than anyone we've had since 2003!
Now, safety is another story.

You DO realize that in the 103 years of Baylor football they gained the most yards in the history of their program last nite? With all the New Mexico States, La Techs, Rices, Florida a & ms they have played in their 1,000 game history, they choose mighty OU and your "improved secondary" to torch for 616 yards? I won't even mention the 512, 606 and 532 we've allowed to other lesser opponents this year...............

However, I particularly agree with the part quoted above. This is not anywhere near the same team that went to FSU.
You don't want any coaches fired, trust me.
