Planning to drive down, via Alamogordo (to get a room there so I can get to Ruidoso easily the next day). I hope it's a late start. It was sunburn-city for some on Dec. 31, 2009, although it got kind of chilly when the sun got behind the mountain late in the game.
I'm sure lots of Artesia folks will be there, and probably a few Longhorn-wannabes from El Paso who will show up to be obnoxious. They might not be as frequent as they were at the '09 Sun Bowl, since they would receive many reminders of 55-17 if they show up and act like typical Bevoids.
I booked the trip back in March staying at the EL Paso, Airport Courtyard (very reasonable) and now I'm waiting on the OU Ticket Office to fill away game requests, which should be done any day now.
My daughter and I had a great trip in 2009 and we are looking forward to going back this year. As NMSooner80 said we will want a 6, 7, or even 8 pm start for the game.
Oh well, only 94 more days until OU Football.

I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is at the entrance to the UTEP campus, and supposedly walking distance to the Sun Bowl. Airfare and hotel are free for me, as I'm a road warrier using points.
Just need tickets now. I'm coming from Dallas, my boy is coming from College Station, and my father from Hobbs.

Hey, I'm not talking about living there, just going to watch my favorite team in a pretty cool setting!
It might be fun to be able to take a private jet in for the game, party, and then fly back to Seattle all in a 24 hour period. Otherwise, I don't think I'll be going back through El Paso ever again. I'll settle for watching the game on the tube.
If you drive, from the OKC area, I'd take I-40 to Amarillo, then go from there to Canyon (I-27 / U.S. 60), Clovis (U.S. 60), Roswell (U.S. 70), Ruidoso (still U.S. 70) and Alamogordo, where you can either take 70 to Las Cruces and then down, or U.S. 54 down directly. It's 84 miles from Alamogordo to El Paso on 54, but it's four lanes all the way now. It beats the over 125-mile stretch between Carlsbad and El Paso on U.S. 62/180 where there are no places to get gasoline anymore (past the turnoff to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park).
