  • what round?
My hope is the Steelers like the 3rd round. I hope early than the 3rd round.

  • For some dumb reason I think he will be drafted in the 4th round by the Chiefs. Hopefully he gets drafted by a team that can let him learn a few years and then take over.

  • As long as it is not my Raiders " Where hope goes to die...." He fits the New England system pretty well and he would have time to mature. Who was the last QB they drafted? Tough to determine because of all the "blah blah" that is out right now. Don't know if teams are serious in their assessment or if they are just throwing up smoke screens to their real intention.

Ryan Mallet from Arkansas is the back up at NE

  • It could be the 49ers. They are trading Smith and have a need for a backup. Plus, they have a ton of draft choices in those middle rounds.

  • I hate to be negative but I don't think Landry goes higher than the 4th round. There are several QBs ahead of him (Geno Smith, Barkley, Bray, Wilson, etc.), the QB class is considered to be weak, and there are less need at the position than last season. I predict he'll go to the Cards, Chiefs, or possibly Pats (in the later rounds). The problem is, he's hit his ceiling and he's going to make terrible decisions (along with some good ones). Would you take him as, basically a finished product, to lead your NFL team? I wouldn't, but I hope he proves me wrong.

I've seen a couple of reports that Mallett is unhappy with Brady's new 3 year deal. He might opt out when his initial contract is up. If he stays, it is conceivable he could ride the bech for 5-6 years.

  • I can see NE but there is no way SF takes an immobile QB.

Reports in Maine are that he is unhappy about Brady staying longer not sure when he's a free agent, think after this season but could be wrong.

You may be right about draft round but what college player goes to the NFL a finished product? Sam is not there yet. Experience in game situations, film watching, maturity, surrounding talent all come into play before someone is a finished product so to speak. The right situation such as Tom Brady has experienced and LJ can be successful at the next level.

Not just unhappy but I believe his rookie contract ends so NE would have to pay him more money. I personally think it would be a great situation for Landry.

  • All reports are that NE is very pleased with Mallet. At least thats what they were saying in the last pre season. I thought that was a great get for them. He needed to mature, but a ton of potential.

    OU MAJOR

  • Hopefully the pats trade mallett for an additional 2nd or 3rd and use that pic for LJ. He needs to sit for a few years. Denver might be a good spot too

Mallett has a cannon for an arm. I even got to watch him in college. But, to put it nicely, the guy just isn't very smart.

  • I agree that KC and Denver would be great fits for LJ. Don't think he is ready to be thrown into starting his first year. On those teams he would have time to learn and settle in.

  • I hope it's Dallas in the 3rd round. Romo's not going anywhere (damn it), so that would give Landry some time to develop into their system. Maybe Landry will benefit from a different q.b. coach's way of doing things.

  • I was thinking Denver. I think a few years behind Manning would be very good for LJ.

I think if he goes into the right situation he can thrive, but that will require a lot of things to go right for Landry. To your point, I think a lot of QBs go into the draft as unfinished products. I don't feel this is as much the case with Landry. He hasn't shown anything over the course of his career to make me believe that there will be a large improvement in his game. I may be wrong and he may be a late bloomer (way late) but I don't think so (unless Heupel was just the wrong coach for him).

He better find a better set of shoes with the OL in Dallas...

  • Have heard rumblings in KC about him playing here. I would guess 4th rd would be a good pick for KC if he lasts that long.
