That's who I am... a Sooner.
The friendship part appears to be a big factor but an IE dude going to West LA, one of the nicest places to live on the planet, has to be a big factor as well. If BS, MS and TK pull this off, it will be impressive.
Sounds like we might lose out on this one, but boy did our Coaches fight!
Kids choose which school they will go to based on a number of factors, not all related to football. But, thinking about football alone, what kind offense/defense, does the team play the kids position, do I fit in with the scheme being used, what kind of depth is already there, are just a few of types of questions that come into play. What we as fans think might be the obvious perfect choice for a recruit might be seen totally diffferent by said recruit.
Coach visits are nice and often will push a kid already half "sold" on the above factors, but I don't it can be said that a coach "failed" if a kid picks another school. If we don't use TE or LB, can you blame a kid for looking elsewhere? In a position coach's defense, I think it's hard to "sell" a recruit on a postion if it is not being used in the coordinators offense. Seeing is believing.
If an OL specializes in run blocking, can you really blame him from shying away from wanting to be part of a Sooner offense? Again, seeing is believing.
Not too hard to sell WR on our offense as recruits see how they are heavily used. A kid who loves 7 on 7s dreams. Just saying.
Not everything is crystal clear.
I wonder if kids think about how long a coach will stay? Mora seems to be one that will jump at the next nfl offer.
I'm hell when I'm well.. And, I am never sick!
