Trabor is a discredit to sports

  • SoonerSeif said...

He doesn't listen to anyones opinions. He's an a$$ hole and crap of a human being. I knew his son and had a few encounters with him. He's just a. big of an arrogant prick in person as he is on the radio. I haven't listened to the animal in over a year.

I would have to disagree with you, I've had many encounters w/Trabor and found him to be very nice, and always answered any questions. Al should retire. He brings nothing but vulgarity to the radio. I like the Hump man, he is always proffessional.

  • My problem with guys like Jim and Mark is that think they are so full of the drama and have to be confrontational with their callers. They simply can't stand anyone with a differing opinion as Jim and Mark are always right.

I quit listening to that station a long time ago. It is just BS in my humble opinion. Every once in a while I will listen to Bobby as he just talks sports and doesn't resort to all the drama and confrontation.

  • Trabor is a blow hard... the animal is the worst sports radio ever! How do all you Oklahomans listen that garbage. The times I have been forced to listen or heard it while in OKC.. it insults my intelligents. And, quite frankly question the callers and listeners.

  • Trabor thinks his opinion is the only one that counts and just talks down on any one that disagrees with him. Don't like Humpree either . some times listen to AL if i am out range for the ref.

Then you know his youngest son went to court to take away any parental rights.

KREF is the better station unfortunately it has to be perfect weather and daylight to hear it in NWOKC and Edmond.

I go gamble at Firelake just because of Traber and Al.

I'll leave the Traber bashing to others. But the comment about Craig Humphreys is spot on...and I'm a huge golf fan. But I can't stand "the Hump Man" and his continuous regurgitating of statistics. If I wanted to hear someone read the newspaper or a stat sheet on the radio then listening to him would be tolerable.

Humphrey's is so redundant. Typical and predictable quotes from Craig year to year to year.

"Do you really think these are the best 64 teams in the NCAA Basketball Tournament".
"Do you really think college fans wouldn't travel to 2 or 3 road games for a College Football Playoff"?
"These people copied my "exact" college football playoff model.
"Do you really like all these Bowl games"?

A good "millionaire" man that is so way out of touch with most of the state's population.

Yes, Beau is the one I know but i didn't want to bring that up because i thought it was a low blow. Lol I try to stay out of the personal life, I was just pointing out the few times I've met him he was an *** hole like you wouldn't believe.

His son worked for me and Traber tried every way in the world to help that kid. What that kid did in that regard was cold.

  • Peace: Not sure what you connection to Traber is, but it seems as though you are the first to always defend him. I was in the courthouse the day that Beau sought legal emancipation from Jim and Traber did not even show up and it was an emotional day for Beau as well. I'm not sure what all led up to Beau feeling the need to get completely away from Jim, but I can tell you that people close to the situation at Norman North have little good to say about Jim on this one.

This was also at a point in time where Traber was totally trashing Beau's mom for 10-15 minutes every show. Perhaps Beau got sick and tired of hearing it. This was just another case of if you happen to disagree with Jim Traber, you're a complete idiot!

  • I don't like, nor listen to Jim. However, just because he makes personal attacks on people, to include james Hale, doesn't mean he should be ripped personally. Even though it doesn't come across this way, his attacks on people are a sign of his own insecurities. A good friend of mine, who I have a great deal of respect for, thinks highly of Jim as a person. That doesn't change my opinion of him on the radio. However, I will give him the benefit of the doubt as a person. As far as his son Beau. I don't know if Jim handled everything in the best way. However, there were issues. As a parent myself, if I couldn't fix these issues, I would have sent my son to a military school.

Again his son worked for me and I have nothing really negative to say about his son although I will not get into it but let me say this. Trabor's son all of a sudden after showing him little attention decides to come to Oklahoma after all these years. He moves in with a house full of women. The claims his son made were outlandish and this is the first time I have heard anybody mention that Jim was in the wrong or heard negative things about him and his sons relationship. Jim's persona on the radio is not always as bad as he seems but Jim and I have had our disagreements. I argued with him about Golloway adnauseum and Nate Hybl and Traber really did James Hale wrong.

Traber is a shock jock but it is more that he is honest and forthright. Does he go overboard trying to convince people he is right? Oh in a heartbeat. Jim sometimes lets personality conflicts poison himself with others. Jim is definitely a long way from perfect but this I can say without reservation that blaming him for any failure with his son is not correct. That is not to say he did everything right but since I know the whole story on it from both sides I am telling you to blame him for the failure with his son is foolish. Jim has a lovely family and his wife and girls are great people.

  • I have listened to the animal for over 20 years. I would never know so many people think Traber is unfair to OU if I didn't come to this board. I know he is an Aggie but I think he is pretty fair to both. He has strong convictions on a lot of things. So do most do us. At least he is straight up on his opinions. He doesn't waffle.

Are you his relative? Joking. But seriously, he does not listen or engage in discourse. He is narrow-minded and does not listen or discuss. He simply screams his opinion. I immediately turn him off or tune him out.

  • I just saw this article about Beau Traber, former Norman North All-State Linebacker who lived in Oklahoma for a short time with his father, Jim Traber, and is now a successful football player at Bucknell University. You know, Jim Traber - YARDBIRD THAT HE IS WHO ALWAYS BRAGS ABOUT WHAT A GOOD FAMILY MAN AND CHRISTIAN HE IS - my wife, a volunteer at Norman North when Beau was a student there, knows the real truth about Jim being so upset with his son, who was a good student, well-respected by peers and adults, and when he tried to kick Beau off the football team by telling anyone he encountered that Beau was a terrible kid who was "tearing the family apart" - Beau then moved in with his guidance counselor and her family.
