I never want texas to win ever...

I took more of a "I could be happy either way" approach. I never have been and never will be disappointed in a game that ends with Texas losing. In that regard, it would have been a treat to see the Aggies come out on top. Knowing that there are dejected masses of arrogant Horns shedding tears is truly something to give thanks for. However, there were plenty of compelling reasons for a crimson-blooded die-hard Sooner to be perfectly happy with last night's outcome.

UT is always first in the pecking order for Texas high school athletes, even when their on- field success is mediocre. For any kid that's not dead-set on being a Horn, though, OU is the program to beat more often than any other. The Aggie nation has convinced themselves (and naturally, will be working tirelessly to convince recruits) that their move to the SEC is some sort of a promotion, or a recognition of their greatness. They see themselves eclipsing OU in the pecking order, and becoming "equals" with UT. Finishing their final Big XII season at an embarrassing 6-6 (including a losing record in conference play) makes their new sales pitch far less convincing. The SEC has mastered the art of the hype machine, and frankly, it has worked beautifully for them. A&M is ready to launch their own SEC-style hype machine. Like it or not, the SEC West is coming into our richest recruiting ground on a scale we haven't seen before. The Big XII in general, and OU in particular, needs to defend its territory.

Plus, with Mack Brown's suspect talent evaluation and development skills, do we really want an outcome that threatens his job security?
