Ty Darlington----- 33 on his ACT! This is off the charts. A 30 gets you a full ride most places. I'm predicting OU's next Rhodes Scholar nominee. Probably graduate in three or less years in something like nuclear microbiology or something else I cant spell without help.
I dont know but I might bet a little that he has the highest ACT ever for an OU football player.
Great to see a super academic on the football team. His academics might give us great publicity in addition to his football exploits.

Intelligence generally translates well for a center. I think he has a chance to be really good.

That's a great point Gonzo and historically accurate. I heard somewhere that Simon, or one of these last guys has a 44 inch vertical leap. That's pretty amazing too!

Spring practice will tell how many of the 6 who enrolled in January will help. The Jucos were recruited to fill obvious critical needs.

None of those high school accomplishments matter..
What matters is what they do at OU..
I'll take a team of hungry hard working underrated players any day over a bunch of 4-5 star players who are already satisfied and have a sense of entilement..
We just played that song this season.

Hopefully a future Rimington Award as well! Maybe even an Outland Trophy!

They mattered until yesterday as far as the football portion goes but this thread is mostly about academics and that will always matter!

I "try" to temper my excitement b/c the reality is so many recruits do NOT pan out and I get disappointed. Whether it is for one of the multitude of reasons, it just doesn't work most often.
However, there are certain players that we all feel have the best probability of working out. I personally believe Gardner, Neal, Metoyer, and Sterling at WR will all have their day in the sun. Ty at OL is just too good and too smart to not make it. Let's just hope he doesn't transfer to Stanford like our last rocket scientist.
Looking back, about half the class plays at some point and about half of them make a true impact. So we can expect about 6 players to start on a regular from this class over the coming years. Who will it be...
