I don’t know but I thought that scholarships where given on a year to year basis. If that is the case then the fact of the matter is that these scholarships weren’t pulled they just haven’t been renewed. I also don’t think there is a time certain to be issued. In other words if a student was going to take summer classes they would have to have a scholarship prior to the start of the summer semester. However if a student wasn’t going to take classes until the fall semester then they wouldn’t need their scholarship to be in place until the start of the fall semester. So the fact that they are not on scholarship at this time means little more than they are not on scholarship at this time. Their scholarships for next year could be issued at any time or not at all. I think a lot of that depends on the number of hoops they jump through between now and next fall. I may be wrong but I see a lot of difference in pulling a scholarship midyear and the fact that next year’s scholarship hasn’t been issued yet.
I think the question more pertinent than are they on scholarship at this point is whether or not the team and school have cut all ties with these players or not. It’s one thing not to be on scholarship it’s another altogether whether they are still able to use the facilities or not, whether they are able to participate in voluntary workouts and workout on a voluntary basis with other team members. It would also be a prim indication of where things stand as to the fact if any of these players are registered for classes next fall.
They may well be gone I don’t know, they may well have to try to work their way back into the coaches good graces by going to school on their own dime for a semester or two I just don’t know. The other side to that coin is I don’t think any of us will know for sure until the fall semester starts. The one thing I do know is that we won’t hear any details about what’s going on from any of the coaches because the details are really none of our business that is between the player and the coach. I know it’s a public school and paid for by public funds but we do pay the coach 5 mill a year to take care of team business and they are stand-up enough to keep internal business internal. I’m sure the coach reports to the AD and the AD reports to the President and so on up the chain of command. If there was anything amiss somebody along the chain of command would take steps to correct it.

Reality=closer to the middle.
Never as bad as it seems, never as good as it seems.
