I was thinking that Brent and mike were co coordinators before mike left and they fed off of each others intensity. I'm hoping that is what we get once again.

Yes they were a GREAT match. I can't wait to see/hear about who Mike lights up in practice first. He will probably use something someone said on twitter back on them as he rips into them.

If BV ends up at West Virginia, obviously he was pushed out.

Is it just me or is this whole thing bizarre? I can't believe he is saying he is hired when there hasn't been an announcement from the SID nor an opening on staff yet. I'm not saying it isn't true, I just find it all really odd.

I disagree. It's certainly "possible" that going to WVU could be due to being "pushed out" but it is far from obvious. Conversely, I see it as highly unlikely considering all we know.

Why would Bob want to get rid of Brent? He has been a great coach and very loyal to Bob. There was never any doubt that if Mike wanted to come back he would have a job.

If you think Bob pushed Brent out then you are utterly clueless. Brent Venables is an exceptional coach and anyone who knows 1 thing about football understands that! Does Mike bring something more to the table and add to Brent? YES!!! Its a classic WIN/WIN

If BV went to West VA, OU's new conference foe, urg. That would suggest d r a m a re the reintro of MStoops.
I believe OU and the Stoops and the university will shell out the skrillbills, I believe it was on this board (james, or someone else, sorry) that pointed out OU's payout for assistant coaches isnt consistent with the other BIG BOYS, eg Texas, Ohio State, USC, Alabama....and i am pulling a Deano here, but I think its a 70-30 ...BV stays as co.
but i do think BStoops needs to get ready for some of his chicks to leave the nest....i've wanted Mark here at OU for a long time...I loved Spurrier JR...
i guess this will play out adn get resolved over the weekend, and plenty of us will be interested in the fallout of where Willie ends up (Kansas?) and BV
