Honestly who in the hell is making these decessions????
You know damn good and well its going to be rain delayed, then start at about 11pm,
The receivers will keep dropping the ball and UTEP will run all over us and win 10 - 3
Oh good grief, Ineed a drink and its only Noon

Probably the right decision when you consider the player's potential exposure to heat stoke. But, what do I care? For me it will be a perfect 7:30 PM start time here in Seattle.

Agree with cesooner. Could be the difference between 90 degrees and 70 degrees.

Utep is no very good. They're not BYU or even Utah State from a few years ago. There's little risk in this game regardless of the start time.

El Paso is the only Texas city on Mountain time, so actually 8:30 start in Seattle.
Just saw that the game is 9:30 Central time, so that's 8:30 local time, which would be 7:30 in Seattle. Probably need clarification, because when they say 9:30 Central in Texas that is usually the correct time zone, but local time in El Paso is 8:30.

I'm sure the folks in El Paso would love a rain delay. It's a tad bit dry out there.

It will probably be dry and hot. But from a positive perspective, a late start provides for a little more tailgate time with other Sooner fans and a few more refreshing beverages :)

You realize of course that OU asked for the late start becuase of the heat. El Paso is a desert town and when the sun goes down the temp drops and it's still dry. Average daytime temp in El Paso inSept is 88 deg and at night 61 deg. So it could be in mid 70's at kickoff. I don't live there but I've been down there at all times of the year and it can be baking in the daytime and you need a jacket that night.
If it's not raining, the weather will be perfect at kickoff.

Let's see... Eastern Time Zone (North Carolina) 10:30p start ... 1:30a end (thankfully we're not lowering ourselves into Thursday games...Friday morning would be a b**ch). This is why I'm personally glad we didn't join the PAC. There are at least a couple of us here on the east coast that really love early afternoon kickoffs. I'll be there (and my wife) at 1:30a or whenever it's over. Can't wait.
