Might open the door for us to get Gardner. They said we were leading and Gardner did not want to commit to the same school as DGB. Of course, it also opens the door for ARK also. Keep your fingers crossed. If we don't get either, we're still okay.
Remember when there was concern that the only team he had Twitter and facebook relations with was Mizzou?
It looks like he was always going to Mizzou. He and his family did a good job distancing himself from MU and getting the red carpet everywhere.
I don't know that I agree with that- he was possibly leaning that way but considered himself open to persuasion. Have you ever had several employment opportunities and each one had something to commend it, yet you felt more pulled to one?
Also, Gardner, or Agholor will be excellent gets AND if we whiff it's not a big deal- we have an excellent WR class coming in.... I'm just glad we got a stud OT- that's probably a bigger need.
We do need Sanchez at DB, Price, or Gant at TE and D Williams at RB more than a WR.
Personally, I would prefer Agholor over DGB. Agholor is the real deal. Crazy explosive and dangerous with the ball in his hands. But that's just me.
Mizzou will need all the help they can get next year that's for sure. DGB may end up at Mizzou or Arky but I'd think he and his parents are smart enough not to make a hasty decision right after the high of a visit. I do think being close to home is important to his decision. They'll probably give it a day or two and then decide. Being realistic, I doubt he's coming to OU. OU would be a great place for him but we do already have some very good receivers on board. I agree our OT committ today was big and getting Williams at RB is close to a must .
He will have to go agianst all universe dbs that wear red capes.
From our perspective the one thing that I think is most telling is that we never got an official visit from him. I realize he has been to Norman a ton of times in the past unofficially. But he had also visited Ark and Missouri many times unofficially...and they got an official from him. I always thought it spoke volumes about where O.U. stood in his recruitment!
The only things tying DGB to Mizzou are his parents and the close proximity. He will be a solid player in any program, but the antics by Mizzou fans and Pinkel over the past couple of days should have been a red flag. I honestly believe their program is headed south in the SEC.
