  • Louisville absolutely hammered UCONN.

UCONN had 11 FDs and less than 200yds of total offense.

  • Their pass Eff D is ranked 16, but looking at the Big East they have not played against very strong passing teams. Looking at yardage for each team the first one that comes up for the Big East is Cincinnati and #25 and the next is West Virginia at #45. I don't think they will be in Nebraska's class for Pass D.

The flip side of that is that they played in a rush heavy conference, so having the 57th ranked Rush D is probably not as mediocre as it appears.

  • Well, we've seen what OU's defense can do to run-heavy teams the last couple of weeks. Their defense won't be as stout as Nebraska, so scoring should be easier. Could potentially be a big win, but it's a bowl game, so anything can happen.

Careful...that might be true, but that was the EXACT same thing we said about Boise...

  • This is not an undefeated Bois Estate team or a WVU team that should have been in the MNC game. This is a UConn team that is doing its best to make it to a bowl game, and that just happens to be the Fiesta. The Big East was a joke this year, and they barely won that conference.

The only risk I see is if the players don't care about being there or check out early for the NFL. We don't have many guys that can declare though, so I'm not too worried. Our young guys will be pumped for their first bowl game.

  • I don't care, I want that bcs W!

True but this is a 4 loss Big East team that in no way should be in a BCS game and their conference should have their BCS AQ status revoked....what a joke the BCS is when a 4 loss team can get a game...

  • This is a mismatch. OU would be a 20+ point favorite if the game was in Norman.

I don't have any idea what UConn is ranked, but they're not a Top 25 caliber team. They'd finish last in the Big 12 South - even behind Texas.

  • By all intents and purposes, we should handle this game with relative ease.

UConn is not Boise and is not WVU...I hope that this game gives us a W, allows a lot of underclassmen/back ups to play, allows our Seniors to come off the field with standing ovations around the beginning of the 4th quarter, etc.

I certainly respect UConn but have no fear. If we play our game and stop their running attack, which is good, we will win by 3 scores.

  • We need to treat the next month as if we were playing the Pittsburg Steelers. I hope our coaches don't allow any thoughts of we are playing a team that is no good. I watched UConn a couple of times this year. I will say that they are no world beaters but they do have talent. They do play with fire. The last thing I want is to play a team that knows this is their Superbowl, which is exactly what they will be thinking for a month.

  • The RB is the best back OU has faced all yr-------and I have watched him multiple times-----and he had NO passing game help
they are very well coached and solid on D

  • I think the youth of this team will prevent them from overlooking uconn. Also coach Stoops really respects coach Edsel with good reason he is doing a great job at uconn and will be getting lots of good job offers soon.
