    Habern
    Ikard
    Williams
    Green
    Stills
    Reynolds/Jackson

    Washington
    Walker
    McGee
    King
    Wort
    Jones
    Nelson
    Everett
    Hurst
    Jefferson
    Colvin

    Any thoughts?

  • If Landry comes back, and Whaley comes back healthy, this lineup looks pretty good to have another shot next year. I want to see some of the incoming WR's also. I have a feeling more than one of them will see significant time next year.

gonna need them to but I like what this coming class offers in terms of playmakers

    Shepherd, Neal, Brooks, Metoyer, Ross

we need to solidify the TE position this spring and heading into summer workouts

Looks pretty good. I would put Tyler Evans and Jamarcus McFarland as co-starters at the G & DT positions.

  • Much weaker defense spells trouble. Zip pass rush.

The two best professional rookies in 2010 and both from Oklahoma City,Oklahoma.

  • If we are to make a run at the national title then we need Jones to be more of a leader out there and in the locker room. Sometimes it seems he is very uncomfortable being a leader. I don't believe Jones is a National Title QB. He looks scared when there is pressure coming at him and panics. If we do win the MNC then I will eat crow for the next year. I have problem with that. JMHO.

  • As Peace said, the biggest question will be our pass rush. We leaned heavily on Ronnell and Frank this year and we will miss them a great deal. It would help if the freshmen DTs made an impact as well as Chaz Nelson and one of the other young DEs making a big impact. I'm actually feeling pretty good about the LBs for some reason (have a hunch that Kellen Jones will be a good one). Couple of question marks in the secondary. Have all conference caliber players in Colvin, Hurst and Jefferson. Need another guy to step up - maybe Everett. Not worried at all about the offense.

That's also assuming that none of the younger players step up.I think they do !!

Agree with your analysis. Would add that TE and the run game need to be fixed on the O side before I feel as a confident about the offense as I do about the D. Green looks like a load, but I'd happier with a pass-catching TE like McNamara, assuming Josh throws to the TEs.

  • Kinda excited to see green block on the edge. Also with Shead and nila at guard, that could be nasty

  • Defense
DL depth still worries me and may continue to be our achilles heel. King has been injury prone throughout his career, but has played very good when healthy. RJ is a great speed rusher if he doesn't overrun the play, not sold on his run stopping ability yet. If that is the starting lineup next year, DT will again be a problem source. Thinking Phillips gets start at DT instead of McGee, other than that you may be right.

DB looks to be shored up and much improved over this year.

MLB maybe Bird instead of Jones.

    Offense
Kasitati if not breaking into the lineup will be in the rotation.

    Metoyer possibly over Jackson.

  • At Corner it might be Everett by mid-season, but to begin the year I bet it's Gabe Lynn, Joe Powell, or Bennett Okatcha.

On Offense I think the receivers will be Stills and Reynolds with Finch and Franks alternating slot. Jackson will back up both WRs. Some of the young pups like Metoyer, Neal, Shepherd, or Brooks may get playing time due to injuries and attrition at the position.

  • Big time O freshman impact players...Neal, Metoyer and D Harris on D...I think he'll be starting at some point in the year.

Can't see any way that Devonte Harris starts as a freshman. I think he weighs about a buck sixty right now dripping wet!

I think Sterling Shepard will play extensively as a freshman. Ridiculous athletic ability combined with a high football IQ makes him a strong possibility to contribute early on offense and in the return game.

    Hook,
I have to think the coaches brought Everett in hoping/expecting that he would step right in as a starter ar CB. At the time of his recruitment, we still didn't know for sure whether Hurst would come back for his senior year. With Hurst coming back, that would actually make for a pretty strong secondary with Colvin and Jefferson at safeties, Hurst at one corner, and Everett at the other (if he can pick up the defense in time for fall).

I just don't think our coaches would have brought in Everett if they didn't want him to be a starting CB next fall. In my way of fhinking, if the coaches had confidence in Gabe Lynn then we did not need to bring in a JUCO CB. Our numbers are not that bad at CB. We have enough corners; I just don't think the coaches feel comfortable in starting any of them. I know I don't.

  • If Landry is going to be a leader he needs to stick his neck out sometime when it is important and not do the slide every time he winds up running with the ball. I do not recall Heupel ever doing that.

  • Too small up front.
