  • R. Lewis 2nd. Broyles 3rd. Flemming 4th. Stephenson 5th. Alexander 6th. T. Lewis 7th. That would make one in each round except the 1st, and L. Jones would have been there (and a top 15 pick) if he hadn't returned for one more year. Later realized that I left out Hanna who is also a possible 7th rounder. No chance for Good or Stevens.

  • R Lewis -2nd (As good as he is there are some monster OLB prospects and pass rushers rated ahead of him and he is not large enough to play ILB in the NFL)
    J. Flemming - 3rd (had his 40 in the combine been better he would have been a 2nd rounder)
R Broyles late 3rd or early 4th (prior to his injury scouts had his rating as early to mid 2nd round, they project him to play in the slot which is not as highly valued as an outside receiver, were he bigger bodied he would probably go in the late 2nd even with his injury )
Stephenson - 4th (NFL teams place a high priority on Offensive tackles)
F Alexander -5th (Again a better combine and late season would have moved him into the late 3rd large # of excellent rush DE's in the draft, bigger and faster although he is in Mayock's top 100 draft prospects)
    T Lewis - 5th or 6th
J Hanna - 6th (his great combine performance got him recognition and elevated him to the #5 rated TE but many scouts question his blocking and toughness...give him a few years with the right team and TE coach he could emerge as a productive NFL.

I suspect we may have 2 or possibly 3 first rounders in next years draft (assuming Jefferson declares next year and plays his natural safety position for the entire season.)

Apparently Bama has 5 potential 1st rounders (all but one on D and IMO Richardson will be the 3rd or 4th player taken.), Stanford has 4 and ND 2.

  • If Broyles plays slot he'll eat up the third CB or Safety the other team will try to cover him with and heaven forbid it be a linebacker. Welker leads the league in catches and yards working from the slot.

I think Broyles and Stephenson, depending on him working on his strength could be steals in the draft. Stephenson was the fastest lineman at the combine, but the 19 reps in the lifting cost him.

Hanna, play him like Aaron Hernadez at NE, split him out on a linebacker

  • Don't know if Jefferson is a first rounder. He is a good player but didn't even play all of the time last year on a bad defense. I agree he will benefit from being a safety full time next year.

  • We didn't have a "bad" defense last year. We had critical breakdowns, but statistically it wasn't a "bad" defense. He didn't play all the time last year because of the position he played- it wasn't an every down position.

You have to think jones would have been picked in place of Ryan tannehill so that would have made him the 8th pick

Our logic might say that, and conventional wisdom might agree; however, remember that Mike Sherman is the new OC in Miami.

LJ might not have been selected there.
