Below is an excerpt I'm sure most have already seen on the SPiN site. This particular scenario mentioned has Jim Delaney written all over it. Sure the B1G will cave and at least entertain a playoff system, but only if they get a 'sweetheart' deal similar to what Notre Dame always gets. Seems more fair to just take the top 4 teams irregardless of which conference they play in, or what bowl game their conference is tied to.
"Among the proposals in the memo is "four teams plus" -- an arrangement that would expand to six teams to account for the traditional Big Ten vs. Pac-12 rivalry embraced by the Rose Bowl, according to the report.
In that scenario, if the top four teams in the BCS standings included teams from the Big Ten and/or the Pac-12, that team (or teams) would play in the Rose Bowl while the other four highest-ranked teams would play in two other games. Finalists for a championship game would then be chosen from among the three semifinal winners, according to the report."
