MILLARD IS ‘THE SLASH'
Junior Trey Millard does a little bit of everything for the Sooners, playing tight end, H-back and fullback. Last season against Kansas State, he displayed his speed with a 61-yard touchdown run.
“He's the slash,” Stoops said. “I was thinking that today. ... I don't know how he remembers it all, but he does.
“The new guys, (assistant coaches) Mike (Stoops) and Tim Kish, have made statements on more than one occasion that he may be the best player on the team. He's just a great athlete because he can do so many things.”

Used to be Brody Eldridge; now it's Trey Millard. But he probably could play LB, or DE too in addition to FB, TE, or TB.

And much like Brody Eldridge, Millard has been underutilized thus far in his career. Its frustrating.

I was hoping Kish would steal him and convert him to a MLB. He could be a thumper like Loston against the run and his speed and knowledge in the passing game would help him be a good cover guy. If I remember correctly, he had some linebacker experience in high school as well.

While i'm glad to see it mentioned, i'm extremely frustrated at how under utilized he's been. It's been clear since he was a senior in highschool. All the coaches have raved about his ball skills, pass catching and blocking, yet, he's primarily a blocker.
I have said it before, if he played in the SEC or Big 10 he'd be an everydown back and a household name.

why not put him at the top of the I and then a full back and run a pro set offense in the red zone? we could run power out of it, play action, use our TE, have combo routes with our WR, our line could then be balanaced and create blocking angles, we could run anything out of it and our red zone package would be great.

Bob Stoops has always liked his fullbacks and many times has called them the best player on the field.
