New coach, same problems.
From Yahoo! Sports: A Yahoo! Sports investigation shows members of Al Golden's Miami coaching staff used former equipment manager Sean Allen in potential recruiting violations.
sports.yahoo.comThe team that cocaine built is just an institution of criminals and misfits who want the thug life! They deserve and should get the "Death Penalty" for that program. The "U" should be referred to as The "PU". Their rise in the early 80s only two years removed from potentially eliminating football themselves is parallel to the rise of the cocaine and thug trade down in Miami itself. Canes stand for cocaines. Bye Miami!
I think this could turn the lights out for a while, And it should. They need to rebuild that program from the ground up, and to do that maybe they need to close it down for a while. I hate to see that happen to some of the good kids there (and there are some) and to the school. But there is an ongoing malignancy there, and the school and some of the worst aspects of the community have become ingrained in their football community (and Miami has its good and bad as well).
The NCAA is not in the best of moods right now, I would wager.

Golden runs players off for being trouble makers, as he should, and then does this. They need to tell him to hit the bricks with them. Surely, there was a character clause in his contract where the school can get rid of him for this crap and not have buyout. Of course, that may be the least of their problems at the moment.
Aren't we lucky to have a coach like Coach Stoops at the helm? He's one of the good guy's.

The Miami program has an entitlement and culture issue that can only be solved by a transformation process initiated by a penalty large enough to invoke change. The President of the university is a arrogant bitch, who ultimately must pay for the mistake by being fired. She is the authority that allows these behaviors. She should be fired with pregidous ASAP.
