KT has a LONG way to go. I was proud of him for taking it into the end zone at the end of the game, (especially after literally throwing himself to the ground on an embarrassing self-sack where he seemed to forget to let go of the ball and got carried forward with it) but he looks to run first and the coaches obviously don't trust his passing ability or knowledge of the passing game enough because he kept getting runs called. He could be great in time, but he has a ways to go to catch up to the other 2.
He doesn't seem to know all the plays, which is understandable, and isn't comfortable enough to make the reads. All a part of a QB learning. He also needs to add some bulk, he looks like a kid out there! Canyoneer is right on about the hitch in his delivery, I noticed that as well. I find it hard to believe that he would be ready by next year, but stranger things have happened.
I would reserve judgement till Fall, as anything can happen over the summer. If I've learned anything about Spring, it's that it's very misleading.

Everyone is entitle to their point of view. Not sure why all the Allen or Bell people have a problem with those of us who have finally gotten to see KT in any kind of action or his first action & say we were impressed with his performance. None of us truly know how or what will happen...KT, yes has a long way to go but so did Bell last year & heck even Drew for that matter. Those guys were given more opportunity on Sat & have been given more opportunity to shine, so yes they should be ahead of him. A fool would understand that but to say that KT's day was subpar his completely ludacris & to knock the fact that he turned some plays into large gains because of his ability to pull it down & run...Well heck, it has killed our defense so many times & it's about time we have one in our arsenal & that's ludacris as well...& I guess since he isn't the normal 6'4, 6'5 or 6'6 "White" Qb that we have always taunted, so I'm sure he won't be a fan favorite....He went out there and performed actually pretty well despite having only walk on WR out there with him for the most part & as for the embarrasing self sack, he actually made a pretty athletic recovery after almost throwing what would have been a easy pick when the walk on WR ran the wrong route, but instead he regained his balance and throw it away. So you call it embarrasing, Heupel called it impressive...& as for the reads, & knowing the offense, He also commented on how well he did in that area as well. So does that mean he is ready.. NO!!!! Just means he should be & will be given more opportunities. YES!!! he is behind the other 2 but if given the same amount of reps & time that Bell & Allen has had from last spring to now...It looks as if he can compete with them...Let's not forget what all of us thought about Bell's performance at last years spring game..didn't hear much hoopla or second coming stuff then..Most thought Drew looked better. I have it under a very reliable source especially after Sat, that Stoops was impressed with KT & thinks he can compete with the others & so does Heupel & they matter much more than us fans & board posters.

I'm not for one minute suggesting that Thompson is ready to start ahead of either Bell or Allen. But I thought is was interesting that Heupel specifically mentioned that both Allen and Bell could have done a better job with game management and clock management. While it was an area that he praised when talking about Thompson. He seems to have a lot of poise for no more experience than he has.

Also, please don't anyone count out Trevor Knight. I have also heard the coaching staff cannot wait for him to arrive on campus and be able to compete in the qb back-up competition as well. Just because Allen and Bell are older, does not mean they are better and will automatically get the job. Knight may come in and surprise you all as well. Do not leave him out.
Kendal Thompson/ the standout winner of the QB backup race!
