It may sound crazy, but it really isn't. We should contact the top 5-10 FBS Wr's who are soph and juniors last year and ask them to come play for OU. These players are easily as good as average FCS receivers and possibly better. They would be experienced, proven, etc. They could step on the field like a JUCO and most likely they didn't have the grade issues that many JUCO players had...just my two cents.

Panth and others will go against this undoubtedly...in their opinions, the true fresh and JUCO players are amazing and going to help us win it all despite their lack of familiarity and tenure in the program. Maybe we can be like UK basketball. I hope they are right.

No doubt these suspensions hurt us, but I see us taking a maximum of one JUCO receiver in the 2013 class. By the time such a player would hit campus (Fall '13), we'd have Stills and Gardner as seniors, Saunders as a junior, and Metoyer/Shepard/Woods/Neal all in their second year. We could build a very nice two-deep out of those seven guys. If Jackson, Franks, or Reynolds were to be re-instated, our depth would look even better.

My bet is that our staff will have a close eye on the potential of our freshman WR's this fall. If all four of them look like ballplayers (or even three of the four), our WR recruiting plans for '13 may not change much from what they've looked like thus far (sign 2).

Remember when we were saying how much we could use Shepard or Woods in the D backfield?!
