James what kind of chances does OU have with *

  • DGB? If not real high then what WR does OU have a very high chance of getting?

  • I think it's kind of DGB, or Nelson Ago (sic), or we'll take other positions. After all we have: Durron Neal, Trey Metoyer, Sterling Shepherd and Derrick Woods coming in, plus the ones who are on the roster: Kenny Stills, possibly Jaz Reynolds, Trey Franks, Kameel Jackson, Daniel Brooks and maybe Sheldon McClain. We should be okay but one never knows.

    3 more running backs is also possible.2 more freshman and 1 juco.It's definitely become a big need with all the defections and the injury to Whaley.

  • Besides Shipley, when was the last time TX put a WR in the league. Wyatt must be a hell of recruiter. If he can get CGB to go to TX with a bad QB, mediocre OL and average passing game, he should be named recruiter of the year.

    They currently have 3 that play (Cosby, Shipley, and Williams) and we have one on IR. Probably don't want to make that argument.

  • Not a lot of faith in the familiar saying that Oklahoma still has a good chance....no biggie though for me... I love recruiting news, the good, the bad, the drama, the fans reaction, the coach speech, reporter speech, just everything is entertaining... At the end of the day, esp signing day, whoever signs the intent to play for Oklahoma is who I will root for.. Whoever doesn't, ohhh well!! Lol

  • I can't imagine we have much shot with DGB. If i'm correct, he hasn't taken a visit at all, and I don't know that he has one planned. Cant see a player coming here, who doesn't even visit.

  • With all due respect, how can we have a "great shot" when he hasn't stepped foot on the campus all season and, apparently, is not going to take an official visit here. Dgb and OU is not happening. He's going to arkansas or missouri. Most likely arkansas unless home-state pressure wins out. I wouldn't be surprised if we aren't in his final 3.

  • Not sure why it is stated we don't have much of a shot. If we made it to his top 3, then we have a shot. The problem is it is a zero sum game. Doesn't matter if you are 2nd or last, you get nada.

    I am still optimistic due to Norvell staying and LJ staying.

    Correct. DGB participated in last year's summer camp and has been to campus on other unofficial visits. If he does not visit officially, it may well be because he already knows everything there is to know about OU. Had Norvell taken another job, I would not have liked our chances at all. We may not sign him, but the same could be said of most of the folks we recruited this year.

If he loved OU and was strongly considering them, then why not come to a OU game during the year? Why not take an official visit on OU's dime? Why not come hang out with your future teammates? I can tell you why b/c he's not coming.

    In addition, he visited several of his other favorite schools, including texas(on a official), arkansas(2 or 3 times during the season), and supposedly, is going to take a official to mizzou. Tells me all I need to know.

    Hope I'm wrong and everyone can tell me how wrong I was but dgb to OU is not happening.

    Well, I guess you have a 66% chance of your dream coming true and him going somewhere other than OU. It is always a safe bet to take the world against OU.,,,no stretch there.

    Reading comprehension is obviously not your strong suit. I said I hope I'm wrong about dgb. I want dgb to go to OU as much as anyone. Also, I stated reasons why I feel this way. You didn't refute one of them.

    I tend to agree for all the reasons you stated. I've not had any feel for him in 3 months or so. No visit...No talking about OU...Never seen the interest some people on here seem to have seen.

    I'd say we're not in his top 3, we'll just have to see.

    I think with the group that we have coming in that if we fluked into getting DGB that it would just be the topping on the sweetest WR. cake ever. :)

    Maybe James can shed some light on this. Is he for sure not visiting this month? I'm trying to think of a recruit, especially a very high profile recruit that we've landed, without hosting an official visit. I just don't see it happening.
