Sooners4ever, my computer screen isn't so great, is that a picture of Ron Jeremy under your handle?
Is so, you might want to use that on a different blog. Maybe over at the Food Network or Shopping Channel blog. Lots more ladies there. I doubt you get many takers over here at OUInsider.

this one has an ominous ring to it so far............sure hope its all wrong but doesn't appear to be at this point in the "rumor story", if for no other reason than we seem to be snake bit on injuries, James, is there any way you can do some snooping and find out if indeed our team's injury rate seems to be higher than others or about the same?
I'm sure Stoops has checked and there must be some kind of public tabulations on such things in the college football media world or sports information sectors
It seems the rate of serious injuries we get is high, and even when our guys who go to the NFL, it seems almost no time, till they have serious injuries, many during their workouts
I heard Dusty D. say on one of the OKC radio stations about a year or so ago, he thought their workouts at OU were not condusive to avoiding injures as the point he was making was that they worked so hard and for so long they overstressed their muscles, ligaments and joints even during the season from the extreme workouts; therefore resulting in bodies, which were stressed and overstressed to a point that by keeping the stress going, something was bound to "give it up" .........anyway, this was the piont he was making
I obviously have no clue other than reading reports and since I primarily focus on our team, it may be that our injury rate for serious injuries is not out of proportion to other top D1 programs, but seems high enough to check so that remedial actions could be taken if so
As for Joe Powell, its only a rumor, but seems to have "legs", let's just hope it;s a bunch of bunk and not true at all.......we should know soon I would think
Thanks James

Interesting.
I still hold out hope that this is a false rumor though. It just seems like, if Powell had suffered a serious injury, someone would have knowledge and make it public. It's been 3 days now. I know that it's summer and coaches have limited access, but you'd think someone outside of the coaching staff, such as a friend or family member, would have spilled the beans. Heck, even a Joe Powell sighting with him showing some sign of an injury (an arm sling or leg boot or some such) seems like it should have happened by now.

First of all, there are federal laws prohibiting the release of private medical information to anyone but specifically authorized individuals. THe coaches cannot just call and get info, nor can reporters. To then release information to the public would be a possible invasion of privacy. Players don't give up their right to privacy just because they play football.

James, Is Joe Powell injured?
