OU still has a great chance folks. If OU wins out, USC beats Oregon, Georgia beats whoever is in the SEC championship, OU is in. 3 teams from one conference can't get into the BCS yet. Still a two max and Georgia would be in the Sugar Bowl and it would be OU and either Bama or LSU. Basically, Go DAWGS!

Agree. Plus it feels great knowing the aggies will not go to the NC game and old man Weeden will not win the Heisman. How sweat it is.

I just don't see Oregon as a factor. I believe we'll pass them if we win out, regardless what they do with USC. They've only beaten 2 ranked teams compared to 5 if we win out.

It's gonna be a beauty contest. Whichever 1 loss team looks the most dominant coming down the stretch will get in. Fortunately for us, we still have 2 ranked teams left on our schedule........possibly 3 if Iowa State slips in this week. It could happen.....Auburn has 4 losses and is ranked in the BCS.

I think you're right, If we win out, IMO we pass Oregon regardless. We really need Bama to lose one more and we might make it, if not we still get a great BCS bowl game. On another note last night was the only time I've ever watched an OSU game start to finish, just couldn't get into it, I had less energy than the cowpokes. I found myself rooting for ISU all game long. Just goes to show you any Q.B. can have an average or a bad game and you're in trouble.

you sound psychic. can you tell me who will win superbowl 3 months from now so i can place some bets?

i think people should quit assuming OU is done and realize that the choas in college football is just getting started. personally i think we have more quality wins than any other team (outside of maybe LSU). beating OSU whether they had a loss or not doesn't change the fact that would give us three road wins against top 10 teams (when we played them). LSU can't say that, oregon can't say that, bama can't say that.

i shed no tears for OSU losing and we are NOT dependant on them for a title shot. personally i still don't think its gonna be easy beating OSU and if we lose to them then i'm even MORE happy that they lost to iowa state because i don't want to see them in the title game and never will. same as texas.

  • Unfortunately we never beat teams badly when we need style points. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see us crushing each of the next 3 teams. And without crushing them impressively it won't be enough.

Never? Remember 2008 season ending run of 60+ points.

  • Those of you that are thinking SC has a chance against Oregon, I hope you're right.

People on this board use to tell me to quit rooting for OU because they said I was really a USC fan. Now I'm not giving them enough credit.

With Woods being this banged up, it's like us losing Broyles. Actually it's worse for them because they don't have anyone to test Oregon.

I hope SC does win but I think Oregon is a lot better than everyone thinks. IMO, they really are a top 3-4 team.

    Huh?

  • We're not done yet. There's a lot of football left to play.

    BCS Champions:

2003 LSU 13-1. Lost at home to an unranked Florida team 19-7.

    2006 Florida 13-1. Lost at #11 Auburn 27-17.

2007 LSU 12-2. Lost at #18 Kentucky 43-37 (3 OT). Lost at home to an unranked Arkansas team 50-48 (3 OT)

2008 Florida 13-1. Lost at home to an unranked Ole Miss team 31-30.

Sorry guys but I think Oregon is going to win big against SC. That doesn't mean we are out but don't count on that as our ticket

You may very well be right, but I'm guessing you also didn't think Tech would beat OU, and Iowa State would beat OSU, etc.

It seems like a lot if people always assume the race is over at about this point in the season, when in reality there is a decent percentage of the games yet to be played.

Plus later in the year the pressure level changes, fatigue becomes a factor, and teams are dealing with injuries.

Almost every stinking year there are multiple surprises through the home stretch of the season.

It's too early to count anybody out in the top 6 or so.

I did not think OU would lose to tech but I did think it was very possible that osu would lose to ISU.

Yes, it is entirely possible that SC beats Oregon but I think it's also highly unlikely. Oregon has their eyes on the prize and I don't see a lapse from them. Would be sweet though

  • Without a doubt, the OSU loss makes it more difficult for OU to get to the NC Game.

If OSU had won out and was #2 going into bedlam and we beat them there is little doubt we would mive to #2--assuming of course we had beat Baylor and IS. It would not have mattered much what Alabama or Oregon did--they would not have beaten anyone away who was ranked highr than they were on the last week-end.
    We would be #2.

Now we need some help, and still have to win out, but the win against OSU will be less impressive.

Could not have happened at a worse time for OSU to choke.

Yes, but only a little bit.
