He's an invited walk-on from what I understand. I could be wrong though, but that's what I've heard.

You are correct, he has been asked to walk-on with the possibility of gaining a scholly at a later date..

I don't understand how so many kickers have ended up on scholarship. Tim Duncan is my neighbor and good friend. He had to threaten to quit, before he got a scholly and that was after he had been the kicker for a year. He ended up kicking in the league for a few yrs.

He was first team all district and averaged nearly 47 yards per punt.

Cool! I live in Katy, TX just a couple miles from Cinco Ranch High School. We haven't had a kid at OU from Katy ISD since Curtis Fagan. Both Katy High and Cinco Ranch have a running back on our list for 2013 also. Maybe we will get one of them. I go to several Katy High games every year, since my wife went there, and it would be cool to follow a kid from high school to OU.

in the past Stoops had several at a time but they weren't doing anything for him. at one time he had 5 kickers on scholarship. waste of scholly's IMO

The plan is for Steed to gray shirt, pay for his first semester while our punter plays his final year, then be put on scholarship with next years class.
