Great time at the red/white game

  • Although I am Sooner born and Sooner bred, I have lived out of state since 1986. We moved back to Oklahoma in August and it was so great to be able to go to the red / white game. I got to attend with my 3 Sooner girls. It was exciting to see the team. I found it very difficult to really be able to focus on any particular player because there were 22 players on the field every play. It would be great to have film to breakdown. I would say that I was most impressed with Trey Metoyer. He definitely looks like a future All-American. He was the best receiver on the field today. We thought that Landry Jones looked great and as if he may be gained a little weight. Danzel Williams look good at the running back position. Finch also had some nice moments. My impression was that Drew Allen started stronger at quarterback, but as the scrimmage went along I think Blake Bell looked better. Thompson was also a very nice surprise. He looked very quick running the ball and threw pretty accurately. On defense, I was impressed with Phillips and his size. Alabama doesn't have a more impressive specimen. I also thought Aaron Franklin looked very quick at linebacker. Overall it was a very fun day. It was a treat to get to see Adrian Peterson come on the field and get a standing ovation. Well I know this isn't a very detailed account of the day, but I know that those out-of-town enjoy any glimpse they can get through the eyes of others.

  • I'm out of town and I enjoyed the glimpse. I hope to be moving back later this year and can't wait to attend some games, football and every other sport.

    Thanks.

  • Was going to ride my bike up from Dallas for the game, but the weather forecast wasn't motorcycle-friendly. Thanks for the report. Looking forward to reading other accounts. Best news of all: DJ Ward!

  • Oakdale..I too left the state in 1989 and recently retired and moved back in October of last year. While I came back 3-4 times a year while gone, it feels so much better to be back. I'm within minutes of Norman and OU so I try to take advantage of what all I've missed while gone.

Glad you and your girls had a great time.

I know right from wrong. Wrong is the fun one.
