  • OSU has a good team this year that’s for sure. But like any team they can be beat. There has been a lot of talk about their turn-over margins. I think the lion’s share of the credit for that would have to go to their offense. Most of those turn overs came with OSU up big and the other team pressing to make up lost ground.
I don’t think you can look at one game or another to try to pick who has the better team. Sure we play like we did in the TT game or a couple others this year we are going to get beat. On the same note if they play like they did the first half of the A&M game or all the K-St game they are going to get it handed to them big time.
In this game we are not going to be able to start slow and come back late if we are going to win. We are going to have to play defense like we did at Florida St and come out from the opening gun hitting them in the mouth and keep hitting them on every play. Remember the hit we put on that Florida St receiver at the goal line? Well we are going to have to see and number of hits like that in fact I wouldn’t mind seeing one like that every time they touched the ball. We are going to need to score early and get a lead to put the pressure on them all game. We need the pressure to set in on them and build the sense of desperation.
We have played a lot of big games like this and know what it’s going to be like and what it’s going to take to win. This is their first chance of getting to a NCG in like forever, they have never been in this position and that is a big advantage to us. They are playing in uncharted waters and we can hope that they don’t handle the pressure well.
We are going to need LJ to have the kind of game he is capable of having and not one of those games where we keep saying “what the hell was that”. We are going to have to go into that game jacked up and having fun. We can’t go in tight and trying to over think everything. It’s going to be the last game before our bowl game, if they don’t know the position now they never will this year. You can bet it’s going to start out by being a loud and rocking at their house when we get there. We are just going to have to dance our dance to their music until we make the music stop and their crying start.

  • They are mcuh better on offense than we are. The consistancy is amazing and they run the ball better than we do. The running game and the huge receivers have made them a great red zone team and we are very average in the red zone. Although the Bell short yardage has been great. They are scoring at least 50 a game with the other team rarely being stopped. The two games their defense played well they had fifty points by halftime.

The key for us is to punish their defense which is terrible. We are vastly superior to them on defense. Unfortunately our offense seems to have lulls every game. This can't happen against them. We will win if the offense plays well the entire game.

  • Our #1 goal should be to get to Weeden. No matter what early. If we are going to play " bend but don't break" trying to keep everything in front of us and then come up and tackle ( which we haven't done very well this year) OSU will control the clock and score.

I hope we ATTACK on defense rush 8 get to Weeden and knock him down alot. He is going to get his share of yards no matter what we do so lets get after him on every down. Be in his face get him out of the pocket all night long relentless pressure and hope to gawd we don't rush 3 and cover with 8.

Weeden is so comfortable right now let's get him thinking of getting hit instead of completing the ball down field.

Bobby Bowden said after the Orange Bowl " We still don't know where they are coming from"

Pressure will win make it ugly trade big plays ( which they will get anyway) for tounovers and pressures..

Our offense will score 35+ so a few TO will be the difference..

It will be like a 120-118 basketball game where one little dry spell will win you the game.

  • Let me get this straight... if I say oSu is a better team than OU right now, then I'm being objective; but, if I disagree, then I have ,crimson glasses"?

For the record, both are very good teams up to this point in the season. If it plays out as expected, Bedlam will be on the biggest stage it has ever occupied in history.

To answer the OP implied/unspoken question, I expect OU to win. Now, while we know better teams don't always win the game, I believe OU is the better team and will win out.
