Yes it does IMHO. It was obviously directed at him also-not an accident. I think he will be "reassigned" to some other position. I wish a couple of offensive coaches would be dismissed.

Wasn't it the defensive ends dumping the water? He's the defensive end coach. I think it was on purpose. Everything I've ever read about him says the players really like him.

According to Jake Trotter, RJ said it was simply because BJW is their coach. I believe arsooner is correct on this one.

I wasn't saying anything negative about BJW at all. It was just the only time I can remember a position coach getting a bath, so I wondered if there was meaning behind it. He's a great coach. I've never heard anything negative about him at all.

Hook I don't think anyone was bad mouthing or putting down BJW. I thought BJW getting the bath was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. From what I have observed BJW is both a good and a players coach.

Agree that it would be great to see Mike come back. To me him taking the AZ job right before the KSate B12 Championship disaster was the beginning of the "fall from grace" by the program. Just my opinion but we need a 'fresh' perspective back into the program on the defensive side of the ball from the last number of years.

The TV announcers sure suggested that Mike Stoops was returning.

BJW has contacts all over the place with high school coaches and is highly respected, especially in Texas. He is an asset to our program.

I think BjW is one of our best coaches and recruiters... My question is, if he moves say into Merv's job and Merv retires could BjW still be on the practice field or recruit?

Maybe trading Mike for BJW would be positive, strictly from a coaching standpoint, although some may argue. But it would almost certainly hurt us in recruiting. Not only is BJW an extremely well-respected recruiter in Texas, but Mike was probably our weakest recruiter when he was here. Not a knock on him; everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

Most assume this would be a net positive, and maybe so. But the staff as a whole would have to pick up recruiting efforts, especially in TX, if this change does indeed come about.
