DeVante Harris to vistt Oregon this weekend

  • Per his twitter page.
The Ducks must still be paying the big bucks.

  • How convenient.

  • Harris, his cousin, and Jinkens from UT are all talking to the famous street agent, Baron Flenory....this type of thing should not be happening in college football period.

Oregon has become the sleaze of college football, stepping up to the plate from USC, and the SEC.

Im still shocked Oregon is still using "street agents" after the last issue with the RB. Now, if Harris is using a "street agent" OU may have found out and went to confront him and pull the scholarship? Who know how this could play in the mix.

I'm hell when I'm well.. And, I am never sick!

  • Can you imagine the Harris kid in the OU program the way he has handled the decommitment, he's just the kind of problem player the Sooners have been getting rid of.

    CCR1

  • Hes not a bad kid. He has every right to do what he is going. A decommitment doesnt make him bad. A so called "street agent" doesnt make him bad either. You all need to grow up.

No, you're right. It doesn't make him a bad kid. However, based on how things have transpired in the past involving street agents and oregon....well, maybe he's not using his best judgement when involving himself with these types?

  • So we are basically out of the running now. I know James always says you never know in the wacky world of recruiting, but I've never seen a kid decommit this late and then end up going to the school he was originally committed to.

THIS! It is about judgement and character. I am sure Devonta is a great kid and probably knows better but a lot of trash being put in the kid's ear from all angles.

Are you sure? What trash are you talking about? All you know is that he decommited. The rest of just a bunch of rumors.

  • Im sorry, bruthaman, but im so tired of 18 year old men (and he is a man at 18) feeling so entitled by way of having stars by their name. I don't believe Devante is a bad kid, but I'm not ignorant enough to believe that 3 kids saying bad things to him about OU at an all-star game is enough for him to decommitt on the spot. Even if he's floored to the point of wanting to decommit because of Coach Martinez is leaving, have the decency to inform the coaching staff who offered you a scholarship which you verbally excepted and kept some other kid from having until 3 weeks from signing day, rather than breaking it on twitter. He's not Ashton Kutcher. He's a football player from Mesquite Texas. And then put it on twitter you're visiting Oregon. Thanks for the scoop, Charlie Sheen!

  • Stubby, most 18 year olds are not Men. Legally maybe, but unless you have had a strong father figure and someone forcing you to think and take responsibility, they wouldn't meet my definition of a Grown Man.

I'm not trying to pick sides about what DeVante should and should not have done, but it would be very easy, maybe even typical for young men to be mis led or manipulated by people promising the Greener Grass on the other side. My guess is that Devante is closer to a victim than a Grown Man. Maybe we should consult Marcus Dupree.

  • The sooner (no pun intended) OU can work out the M. Stoops thing out the better it will be in recruiting, both keeping recruits and potentially getting additional big names

Its rare that an 18 year old is a man, meaning responsible in his choices, yada yada, father figure or not. Trial and error is the best teaching method and most 18 year olds are still in early part of the trial and error phase. When you get older, there are a lot less trails to have errors. So, hes not bad. He can feel entitled because thats what people do with athletes. Now, feeling entitled wont get you much, but he will learn that soon enough if he is truly feeling entitled.

Even in the army, when an 18 year old kid enlists, he is still a kid and has a lot to learn. Learning that you have choices is first and then learning how to analyze and achieve that particular choice is another lesson. Oregon is a hot item right now. Those kids appear to be having a good time out there and they are winning a lot. There doesnt seem to be much fun going on at OU.

  • 18 year olds are not Men and the drinking age backs that up as well. If you were a Man at 18 they would let you drink at 18. Now my only problem with this you can die for your country at 18, but you can't drink and my solution to this is that if you are in the military then you should be allowed to drink at 18.

  • This has nothing to do with DeVante's character and everything to do with a shady street agent swaying kids to the school of his former coach for money.

  • why not just wish the dude good luck on who ever he chooses to play for and let's all of us just move on to who really wants to play for the Sooners..no more judging him..no more ragging on him, better yet, pray for him..Pray that he will have a life that is Christ centered and will make a difference in other peoples lives....
