I am trying to figure out which section would be the best seating for the texas game. The best seats that I can find are in section 112, which appears to be in the southeast corner, if I'm reading the stadium map correctly. However, the game is starting at 1 pm, so I would assume that we would be facing into the sun in that section. Would that be correct?
Also, which end of the stadium do the Sooner fans sit on? I would not want to sit in the middle of a bunch of Texass fans. I am afraid that I would do or say something that would cause trouble.
As you've probably figured out, I have never been to an OU/UT game before, and I'm thinking that I'd better try to attend one before the conference realignment takes place. It would be a shame to miss out on one of my favorite bucket-listed adventures.
From Stub Hub seating map section 112 is Texas side. Team sides are split at the 50 so look on the other side. I have noticed Ticekts are more expensive on the OU side. Also, I believe game starts at 11 am, not 1:00.
Section 112 is on the NW side of the stadium and is in the heart of the Texas section. The OU seating is on the south end of the stadium.
The problems we face today exist because those that work for a living are out numbered by those that vote for a living.
I find this seating chart a little deceptive, but it comes from the Fair Park site.
In the old days, it was pretty cut and dried. There were and are 36 sections in the lower bowl and before the upper deck encircled the stadium, any upper deck section was the same number as the lower deck with a 1 in front of it.
So 105 was directly over section 5.
And before, sections 1-5 were OU sections. Sections 6-23 were Texas sections (with a small variance in their end zone) and sections 24 - 36 were OU sections with 36 sharing a boundary with section 1.
Now I believe that the boundary between 5 and 6 has been moved, tho not sure. And the same on the other side. And the upper deck sections aren't close to necessarily being over the corresponding number.
Here's the link to the seating chart: http://www.cottonbowlstadium.com/seating/index.html
Just know that OU always sits on the end with the tunnel...
