Exactly. I'm sure he has lots of the toughness we need.

I love swager on the field but if I'm a coach this would be a red flag for me. Tired of the "look at me" off the field social media types. People in the know say Stills leaving isn't a bad thing. I appreciate the Cali players on the field but we need tough, championship minded and all "team" guys imo.

It's been said before in this thread, but if you're looking for a high school football star who doesn't tweet, then you're on a snipe hunt.
By the way this particular episode with Goodman is perhaps the most embarrassing recruiting moment since I've followed OU football.
How are people seriously getting upset about this players use of Twitter, while completely ignoring the actual problem? Holy smokes Sooner fans, that's delusional.
That might be the biggest overstatement I've seen on this subject. The kid is most likely talking about female hosts tweeting this late at night. If he has to have a girl around him in order to determine if OU is the place for him, he's not worth the time and effort.
Well, ce, it MIGHT be an overstatement, but combined with canceling junior day and leaving at least one kid holding tickets he paid for, and the recruit we missed on last year because no one made travel arrangements for him, IF (and I know no more than any of you) there was some miscommunication or lack of a host, it is indicative of a gross lack of organization.
Recruiting is the very lifeblood of this program...we aren't getting a lot of top recruits and frankly I have been wondering why. Perhaps some of these issues are part of the problem. All I know is that when I bring investors in for "dog and pony" shows for my business, they are given the royal treatment from start to finish. I know other programs treat recruits this way (not that I necessarily agree with coddling these kids) and this IS a competition.
Even Bud's program left a recruit from North Dakota waiting at the bus station. He just got on a bus home.
And so Roger Maris concentrated on baseball.
Let's keep our composure until we have all the facts. We're largely a bunch of middle aged men trying to interpret the Tweets of a 17 year old from California who's shaking his head that he doesn't have a "host" at 11PM. On its face, the Twitter may say at least as much about Goodman and his personality as it does the Sooner staff.

Maybe it's me, but I don't interpret the complaint as him being a diva and needing attention. I interpret is as a potential "employer" (in this case, school) showed less commitment and thoughtfulness than other potential "employers". That's the whole point of pampering recruits - to show them how much the program wants them to wear their uniform and commit the next 4-5 years of their lives to that "employer". If you don't meet the standards of what your competitors are doing, you aren't going to win many top employees...
This staff takes a no nonsense approach to coaching and recruiting. If this is a mistake by the staff then they should apologize to the kid and his family and make the rest of his stay here as enjoyable as possible.
I know if I was a player on a recruiting trip and something happened and there was a missed communication or something like that I certainly wouldn't over react. True, I would be there to be convinced that's where I want to get an education and play. But on the other hand I would also be a guest and would conduct myself in an appropriate manner.

Wake Up!!! This is the Information Age where perception is reality.
Wow, so folksy and irrelevant.
at least 15 people after me agreed that is unacceptable... I actually said IF THIS IS TRUE!!!! I get down voted!! and im trying to be positive too!! i really hate cowards!
Everybody complaining about this is stupid! Look at what time it was tweeted. He obviously wanted to go party. He tweeted before this saying how we picked him up in a limo. Them today he has tweeted that his went to BJ's to eat and how much he was enjoying his time with Roy Finch.

If you think Twtitter is confined to California then you are . Besides, the last 3 Cali guys we brought in ended up being 3 of the best players on the team. Think before you post next time.

All you Okie Dokies that have taken a dislike to Stills, Jefferson and Clay because they are from California are pathetic.
My thoughts as well
Saw on another board that he did have a scheduled host, but there was an issue which nobody knows about. Evidently Finch is hosting him now. So before everybody goes off the deep end I'd see how this plays out and find out all the circumstances before jumping to conclusions. Oh wait, its too late for that as usual......
Original host could have come down with the flu, had a flat tire, had a minor car accident, or a family issue, or any one of a ton of other possibilities.
OR someone on the staff could have screwed up.
We don't know, do we.
But the program haters jump to the worst possible conclusion without knowing the facts. Par for the course.
Has nothing to do with where they are from. Stills and his "look at me" tweeting were getting old to a lot of us. No issue with any other Cali guys on the team or other Cali recruits. Nice job misinterpreting though.
Never knew that and unlike James, I am a Yankees fan.
