1. When our first offensive series goes awry due to our own doing, the O more often than not will not have a very efficient game. Same thing happened against KSU when we missed Green for an easy six.
2. We are a good front runner team, but when behind in Q4, we cannot deliver a come from behind win. Only one I remember was Bama in 05 or 06, I think. We have had some strong comeback efforts, but only the one win that I recall.
How many of you thought we would tie the game in Q4 last night? Not me, I figured we likely have a TO and we did, why because we could not run the ball and ND was pressuring our passing game bigtime.
3. QB centric offenses give us fits, we have difficulty getting them off the field. Does not bode well for our games with ISU and WVA.
4. We do not play to expectations when we have our 5th year QB return, whether it be due to injury or other factors, seems to be bad karma.
Unfortunately I have to say that ND looked like the better team/organization. Their Fr. QB played well, Kelley was calm and seemed very confident in gameplan and decisions. They beat us worse than Purdue, Stanford, and BYU. They exposed us on both sides of the ball in a game that I thought we would we win by 7-14 pts. Wish I knew whether it is our talent level or simply out coached. Not calling for anybody's head, just curious to know, schemes or talent!!
