You have to wonder why in Brent's last year that TJ didn't play in several games down the stretch. There was talk of ankle but I recall a safety missing a play and TJ playing and then going back out and he was obviously pissed.
I can't answer why the Cali trio was given so many kids to host. I do know that especially Stills was not representing the program well in previous years outside the football field.
The two best professional rookies in 2010 and both from Oklahoma City,Oklahoma.
These evaluations are all over the sports media...it is abit amazing and should be noted that most of the negative responses are directed at our Coaches not the players.
Seems to me that this is likely a tempest in a teapot. If Tony wasn't an enthusiastic practice player and had bad work habits, trust me, he knows it. And he would have been told over and over...yet he still expressed love for the coaches, etc. It is the blogger who used the term "trashed". It is likely that the characterization was sensationalized. What has Tony tweeted since that time? I went and checked and he hasn't shown any response, and certainly no negative response.
Yes he said be careful who pats you on the back (coaches I assume) they may be looking for a soft spot to stab you in the back. He also had other conversations with others about his coaches doing him wrong. He also said I don't want to come back and run man all day. and that is a quote.
I think that is reading a lot into some comments. You need to put them in context. And, it isn't like he won't have to run man in the pros. Lol.
Well then its best he left. Whether they agree with the schemes or not really is irrelevant. The schemes that were put in place should be run to the best of the players ability. What does Jefferson think is going to happen in the pros when he plays for a coordinator that implements something he doesn't want to do? If he doesn't "buy in" there he'll be quickly unemployed.
I agree why screw with the worst scheme ever invented? 4-1-6

That wasn't my point. I agree the scheme wasn't any good. But it's really going to be bad if players are wanting to, (how do I put this without ripping the player), not wanting to go all in. If all this is true, no wonder the defense sucked the last few games. It's obvious some didn't get along with M. Stoops. Coaches are there to coach and the players are there to get an education and play a sport to the best of their ability. After some of this has come out I'm beginning to wonder just how much effort was there at the end of the year on the defensive side of the ball.
Players work hard and want to win. I would bet in Tony's case I seriously doubt he was not staying even before the season. The Cali trio came to OU to win and play in big games and win a National Championship but most importantly go to the pros.
This is is similar and dissimilar to the Malcom Kelly situation. Tony is better in the zone because of his instincts. He is not fast. He could better use his instincts in the zone. The system he came to play was the one he played his first 2 years. Now if you want to be realistic then please do. OU has the lowest graduation rate of FBS schools.. Lowest lowest lowest of what 125 schools? They aren't coming here for an education and we obviously don't care that they get it. The effort was fine against Texas,ND,K-State, but if you notice when we tried the 4-1-6 and when we got torched did not adjust at half lots of players got frustrated. For most these kids they are playing for the NFL. Where I think we agree and that is fine is that this blind lead and I will follow doesn't work when it is a lousy decision as Tim Kish said publicly.
