What was the final outcome on this guy?
He enrolled at a JUCO in MS
Yes, thanks to notre shame screwing him royally.
For 1 or 2 years?
How ever long it takes him to graduate. Since he didn't qualify out of high school he can't transfer to a D1 school until he graduates JUCO.
thanks for the info folks...
I was furious with note dame as well over this, but spoke with someone who is somewhat close to the situation, and I'll just say that this is not on notre dame, it's on the kid and I seriously doubt we'll ever see him in Norman. Let's just hope he gets it together and does what it takes to fulfill his potential.
Are you sure about that? I could be totally wrong (wouldn't be the first time this week, or even today)... but I thought that he qualified, but that some of his classes wouldn't count at Notre Shame. He had enrolled there, but then discovered he didn't have everything to meet their internal requirements.
That's why he needed Notre Shame to release him and an NCAA waiver... because he was a qualifier but was a signee of Notre Shame and therefore essentially a transfer.
Like I said, I could have misunderstood the situation completely but that was my understanding of it.

I'm sure James knows the situation. Where is he when we need him? Probably out partying with a couple coaches and a bunch of fans.
