What a great interview James just did with Spencer! Talk about candid. His take: this program needs a complete introspection, from players to coaches; every assistant should be evaluated, including the coordinators; figure out what needs to be done to get this program back to where it belongs and do it, even if it includes making very hard decisions; if you need a new head coach, so be it (this is a paraphrasing of Spencer's words - I did not add this). I, for one, love the honesty! It's time for certain people to understand that they don't have a divine right to continue in their current position regardless of performance.

Amen. That type of unbridled candor is like good news arriving from a far country and water to a thirsty soul.
Unfortunately none of that matters.
I think Spencer is dead on. It would be interesting to hear the thoughts of alot of the former players.

I think Bob Stoops most important attitude trait when he arrived was "No Excuses." That was what we needed to turn around a dysfunctional program.
Somewhere along the way he lost the no excuses pledge. I'm not saying he makes a lot of excuses, but I do believe he has allowed some excuses to invade his thoughts.
We need To get back to that mentality and start at the top. We don't need to dwell on any disadvantages because any perceived disadvantages aren't at the level that should keep us from being among the top.
"The way I figure it, everyone takes a beating..."
I really hate to lose at anything. I also hate that teams I root for lose any games at all. However, we lost to three teams that, if Notre Dame loses tonight, will have a total of five losses between them. I guess I should put this season into perspective and get ready to cheer for the Sooners next year with new blood coming in to fill some of the voids.
That's all notable but it doesn't excuse the defensive effort down the stretch. Even when we knew we just would have to win shootouts, we couldn't even get into a shootout. We scored 13 points.
Hey pal, the difference was 95 - 45 for the 3 losses. BGBS is 7 - 7 in post season.
Dante Jones, Damian Mackey, Spencer Tillman and others say there's a problem. T-shirt fans who like to fantasize about being real fans like to think their opinions matters on this board.
The issue was the way we lost. One thing to be in a fight and lose it at the end. Another to get our A** kicked and not be competitive in the 2nd half. We were fortunate to have had A&M punt a few times when they could've picked it up or it would have been worse. For a program that has a famous drill to separate the men from the boys in 2 a days and a defense named after it we are not suppose to be a finesse team that gets shoved around or that cant open a running lane for 4-5 yards.
The two best professional rookies in 2010 and both from Oklahoma City,Oklahoma.
Oh, him? He's an a$$hole that doesn't know what he's talking about.
Oh wait, he's a great, former Sooner and a current college football analyst. He must see things we all can't see and know things that are only known to Jesus and those close to Jesus. He must be an elf or hobbit or some other fantasy creature. We love his opinion.
Almost every year a former player says this or something very similar.
What makes this year so different? If it hasn't changed yet, why would it?
