ND is off to a fast start tonight against Michigan State. Both sides of the ball look pretty sound so far.

And Texas is looking pretty good tonight as well. Ash is much better than I remember him last year. Receivers running great, Oline protecting. The Texas D is overwhelming Ole Miss.
Ole Miss is probably not very good, but even so, Texas looks like the coaching finally has that talent working together.....
I've been switching back and forth between games, but inthe parts of the Texass game I've seen Ash has been pressured quite a bit and had to scramble quite a bit.
I saw this movie about Texas last year when they went on the road and beat up on ucla and Iowa state. Not buying it. Same team as last year.
ND can run the ball. Even at the end when Mich St knows the run is coming, they can't stop it. Typically, I thought Mich St was pretty good at stopping the run. I hope it isn't that ND is great running the ball, rather that Mich St sucks.
Except now they have one QB who is not totally inexperienced and are in year two with the new coaching staff. They are not NC caliber by any means, but they are better than last year.
Maybe, maybe not. They've been mediocre at best the last two years. Forgive me if I need to see a little more than beating up on a putrid opponent before I'm willing to say they've turned any kind of corner.
Our road is looking tougher by the minute.
More impressed by ND than Texas. Ash can't throw the ball downfield and that will be a killer against a good defense like ours. Really like Malcolm Brown. Better than last year. Still think Tex might lose to both OSU and WVU before they play us. Mich St. couldn't exploit ND weakness - their secondary - which we should be able to do.
Harsin is up to his old tricks. Texas just ran the play that Boise beat OU with in the Fiesta bowl. What is it called, statue of liberty play? Ash ran it to perfection.
I have always said Texas had the talent, but the coaching was just not there. Well, it appears to me this coaching staff has got their legs under them, and the offense and defense are looking pretty good.
We still have Mack down there as our secret weapon, but this is not the Texas we have seen the past couple of years...
Yo to this!
Well, their secondary seems to still be susceptible to giving up the big play.
I'm glad both are winning and hope both keep winning until they play OU. I was worried that ND might come into the game with OU with one win or possibly no wins. Just makes it better for OU that they both be media darlings and ramked as high as possible before OU beats them on national tv. #1!
Boomer Sooner! #1
I guess you didn't watch Ash connecting on bomb after bomb last night.
If Texas has a weakness it might be their over rated secondary.
Ash is in trouble when he faces decent db's!!! Mississippi had probably the worst set of db's and safties in College football!!!!
Say what you mean, mean what you say!!!
Watched the entire game and Ash's bombs were, with one exception, all jump balls that would have been picked off by a decent secondary. He didn't throw a single pass over the middle or a deep out. All screens and long jump balls. It will severely limit their playbook and make it difficult to move the ball on a good defense. I think our D will eat him up. UT secondary and LBs looked weak in coverage. But, gotta block those 2 DEs.
They were jump balls. But the play action is tough to defend and when he threw them the receivers were wide open and the defensive backs were struggling to get there.
The two best professional rookies in 2010 and both from Oklahoma City,Oklahoma.
If we cant stop the run with the front 7, then we will see if our DBs can adjust. Its not like the Ole Miss DBs were beaten, they just didnt adjust well. That said, the texas pass defense isnt all that good. The run defense either for that matter. Our Offense has yet to put in a performance like that yet though. Also, our LBs better be ready. Burgeron and Brown are some big boys running that ball.
There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
