NOW REINSTATE JAZ AND TREY!!!
This post was edited by James Hale 21 months ago
Why, they would Never see the field, this is the deepest and best rec's group BS has had in several years, maybe ever.
Exactly, these receivers are starting to click as a rotation. This would be the worst time possible to disrupt their progress and timing.
injuries? it is a long season ya'll, and Landry and Jaz has always "been on the same page". Plus, Trey is on defense now. And it would be nice to get him some live game reps, for next season. So, if Stills for instance were to be lost for the season, like Broyles was, I think Jaz would be a big-time asset to Landry and the offense, and Jaz is fresh, not banged-up...
Hate to burst your bubble, but Jazz could easily get back into the rotation. He won't start, but he's one of the top 4 (Stills, Brown, Saunders and Ryenolds) at the position and that's just the reality of it. You can be mad at him all you want for getting suspended, but the kid will play again at OU and will get a shot in the NFL. Now I agree Trey Franks will never see the field again at OU.
"With Nebraska trying to leave, we felt like we needed to send them out with a loss, and we did." -Ryan Broyles-
The guys that are suspended have been given several chances - and as far as I am concerned I don't care if they ever come back
Isn't there always a chance they can play special teams so the starters aren't injured needlessly?
Justin is a great returner but IMO Jaz is a better receiver. I can see Jaz splits at least 50% snap time with Justin if he is still in game shape. Hat off to coach Norvell to find enough reps for all these guys but also to keep them a happy bunch.
I don't think Franks will be on the team after this season. Just a hunch though.
I dont see jaz beating out metoyer , and we also have gardner supposedly coming and derrick woods is a redshirt this year
Metoyer is just a pup compared to Jaz. By the end of the year, Metoyer might b better, but he is not better now.
As for Franks, he may have some specialty roles, like Finch in the Kansas game. I can see Franks being involved n some end arounds or double reverses. N one game last year, Franks had over 100 yards on just two carries. Other than that, I don't see Franks being involved n many plays.
Nothing against Jaz, but this is the most consistent pass catching group of receivers we have had in years. Jaz like most of the rest of the receivers over the past few years dropped too many balls. It's the same QB, and these receivers hang on to most of what gets to them.
Brown's blocking and approach to the game probably wins him a great deal of support from this staff. Jaz ain't taking his minutes IMO.
Too bad Jazz and Trey aren't DE or OL or DL folks.
No it's not. No way Reynolds is in the top 4 over Shepard.
They have only theirselves to blame. Jazz is not as good as what we have now. wish him the best but he would not be playing much now anyway.
Howdy fellas. Saw you guys got this guy back from suspension and realized I don't know a thing about him. What does he bring to the equation of disrupting the ND offense? And do you feel he'll be able to keep up after playing on the scout team all year?

He is a 6-4 300LB Defensive Tackle that is a Senior and very good at stopping the run.
Franks has moved to defense and has been working at safety according Mike Stoops.
He will probably not make a big difference, but will allow us to go big with a big DE (who was playing DT during Stacy's absence).
He may be rusty and not in game shape. I don't see him playing a lot of snaps. However, he should be able to make a difference nonetheless.
Well anytime you free up other players to move back to natural positions is big. It might not show up on the stat sheets but it's definitely significant.
What do you guys feel is the key to the game? I think it's going to be a low scoring grind it out slugfest so ST will be huge. An area OU has a decisive advantage in.
What about Quentin Hayes, he's suspended too?

Playing on our scout team means he has been going against our 1s on offense the entire season. Having him in rotation with Walker and Mcfarland is a very good thing for OU.
Jaz is definitely one of the top 4 receivers on the team. Stills and Saunders are the only two receivers who have proven more than him. Brown has dropped a td pass three weeks in a row but as long as we keep winning I guess people will continue to ignore those.
