Awesome. ESPN and Rivals both rate him a mid/high 3* player. Solid pickup. Is the DT class done now?
ESPN Insider's Scouting Report:
Romar is a tough stout defensive line prospect. He is at this stage a bit of a 'tweener' position wise and could transition to the next level as a D-End or develop into a D-Tackle or even a little more likely be a swing guy who moves around the line. He has good overall size and looks to have a thick build with good upper and lower body playing strength. With a move to DT the question is how much more good mass might he be able to pack onto his frame. He flashes nice explosiveness off the ball, but is inconsistent and does possess an upper tier first-step and is not a quick penetration presence. What he can be is a stout run defender who is hard to handle in a phone booth. He demonstrates the ability to fire out low and uncoil when he engages a blocker and generate good power from his lower body. He does a very nice job of consistently shooting his hands and is able to maintain separation. Shows the upper body and hand strength to extend and shed. He is a kid who seems aware of blocking schemes and plays his responsibility. Does a good job of using his hands to protect his legs. He has a good motor and solid pursuit speed, but much better at the point-of-attack than as a defender in space. A solid tackler with the strength to finish when he gets a handful of cloth. Really best as a run defender and bit more limited as a pass rusher, but can be disruptive as a power rusher that is capable of getting into blockers and knocking them out of their cylinder. There is a bit of a feeling that with Romar you are getting what you see, but that is not necessarily a bad thing because what you get is a powerful tough kid who uses his hands well.
