"You can come to Oklahoma and win championships or you can go somewhere else and watch us win championships"
The King-Barry Switzer
At 6’3” and 225 the guys an OLB, James just listed him as a punter to see how ballistic you would go. I would say he got his money’s worth wouldn't you.
Ya wins with defense and kicking. Look at some of the teams in the BCS poll. Strong defenses. Kicking is so often overlooked. Remember the "Superman" play against Texas? The reason the ball was so deep in UT's territory is that the Texas return man thought it was a pass and that he was intercepting and caught it deep in error. OU sealed the deal because of the kicking error on UT's part.
OU probably helped win the game against OSU because the hog sloppers failed to cover a kick-off and allowed OU to start in strong field position around mid-field (late). Error in the kicking game.
Of course there is always "The Kick" up at the "Shoe" in 1977.
Playing defense in the Big ? has become a tough assignment. Playing against the spread with only one and sometime wih zero linebackers is suicide. Against OSU late in the game, when Shannon went out with injury, OU lined up in a normal two linebacker set and stuffed the Ags and Wort's sack probably helped win the game.
OU's conditioing was a factor when the other guys begin to fold.
Welcome... hope we rarely see you.
That's who I am... a Sooner.
