This is according to the N.J. Record, but I couldn't find a link; only reports on Twitter. Would be a solid addition to the non-conference schedule. And in a unique market (NYC/NJ).
As a personal note, would love this so I could Atmrak down to the game from Boston!
Wow, this would be a solid OOC game if it happens. Plus - like you say - it would position us in a very good recruiting market. I hope Joe makes it happen.
Would this be 2012?

Would this be 2012?
Yes, based on what I've seen. In September most likely.
Hope it happens.
Rum Martini's at the 4 Seasons Bar......can't wait!!!
Just FYI, but followup reports from Trotter @ ESPN suggest that this is still less than 50% odds of happening. I really hope it happens though.
Oh man, would I love to see this!
A ten-minute walk to Penn Station and a half-hour NJ Transit ride to the game!
It'd be a dream come true for me.

........rutgers has no fan interest for me............how 'bout tryin' to get a home/home with penn st??.........that's interesting. Actually, I'd like to see a series with the hogs to start off the season..........think it would be quite a rivalry, perhaps heated. Years ago, the pukes use to open the season with them
An hour from my house!
Last time I saw the Sooners play, I had to fly to Pittsburgh.
Lydell Carr was the fullback!!
Would be a lot of fun for all of us in the NYC metro area. Good for exposure with the NY press and local recruits. Gotta win the game decisively, however.
This is not going to ever happen!
Sure beats waiting around till the sooners go to West Point!
Dang, lotta NY Sooners lurking around here. Post more often, Yanks.
From a Boston Sooner: Go Pats
(Just teasing - I grew up in OK and have no allegiance to any local Boston teams...in fact the fans can sometimes be quite annoying!)

This is one of those games that does you no good if you win, but if you lose we will never hear the end of it. I really don't like it.
Maybe, but it's an excellent recruiting tool.
"It's a stompin' in Norman folks, an old fashioned stompin'!"
I read it's still very unlikely to happen, less than 50% chance. It would be cool though. With our recruiting in Cali as of late, I'd love to see a game with SDSU in SD.
Ronnie Hillman is at SDSU and he's pretty scary. And SDSU was darn good under Brady Hoke, plus his recruiting targets will be coming of age in the next season or two.
Let's go paste UCLA while they're weak. We owe them for losing at their place in the Bomar era.
This is a slightly more interesting since Rutgers' coach was just named head coach of the Buccaneers.
...and a 4 hour flight to DFW from Newark followed by a 3-hour speedrush drive to Norman gets you seated in Section 11 with my family and the rest of OUr rabid friends. LOL.
Seriously, I hope this match-up happens. We do have Army on the schedule for 2018, but it's in Norman. I would love to go see us play Army in Yankee Stadium.
(I've ridden the NJT to-from Penn Station to Newark a hundred times on my travels to your fair part of the world)
Los Angeles Rams
soonersons, I think the Army game is a home and home, Michie or Yankee stadium in 2020!
Dude, it's Rutgers.
I'm curious if losing their coach will make Rutgers less interested in setting up this game or more interested......
I'd opt for West Point over Yankee Stadium. WP is supposed to be a great place to see a game. I can go to YS anytime (my wife's a Yankees fan; I pull for the Mets -- or what's left of them).
I last attended a home game when the Sooners hosted Baylor in 2009. That was my first football game in Norman in 25 years. (I've been to any number of home basketball games over the years, since I'm home in OKC for the holidays, and I'm in Dallas for OU-texas most seasons.)
