How many good defenses has OU played this year?
Well according to stats before the games were played 3. KSU, TTU and UT.
Not sure you could count the stats for TT's D prior to your game.... Have you seen their schedule before they played you? That should be a crime.
And Texas gave up 31, 36 and 45 points before they played you. I guess we have a different opinion of "good".
Then why ask a question you seem to know the answer to? If you really want to know the answer..... We will find out Saturday! Just because espn says you have a good defense doesn't make it so.... A better question would be how many good offenses has ND played? Answer: none that are as good as the one you will play Saturday....
I can't wait for te answers... Come back and speculate after the game!
Everyone was suspect of Tech's D prior to our game with them because of their schedule. Then our O moved on them pretty good and we thought they were improved on D, but certainly not great, as their stats would have suggested. Then Tech put the hurt on WVA's O and they were back to respectable.
TX has underachieved at an alarming rate ... albeit while playing a few good O's.

Overall defense, probably 2. Tech and Ksu.
UT has 2 of the best DE's in the country and they were silent the entire game. The rest of their defense is not very good.
Tech had a pretty "ugly" schedule prior to playing OU but have had a good outing against WV but not so much against TCU.
I will also mention that our offense is not the same as it was the first three games. Landry played so so but I dont think you can pin it all on Landry. WR's were almost completely new except Stills and not having Saunders at the beginning of the year probably hurt some. Trey Metoyer is going to be a very good player down the road but currently not ready to be prime time. Justin Brown is a big wr with decent speed and a lot of strength. Stills is strong and fast. Saunders is the fastest player on the team and can flat out fly.
Not saying that OU will be able to run as well as they have all year, but the passing game should be effective.
1)I think Oklahoma wins a close one.
2) I looked up answers after I asked the question.
3) you have played 1 good D and lost.
4) ESPN hates ND
5) I don't get the blowout predictions.
1) I accept.
3) Perhaps, but as someone else noted, OU is not the same team now. To give you an idea of our early season predicament, we only had 3 starters that returned to play the same position as last season and/or were not coming back from major injury. Everyone else was new, returning from injury or playing at a new position. That situation required some time to iron out kinks, hence LJ's early season discomfort.
4) I had not noticed. Neither OU nor ND is in the SEC, so that is certainly a strike against consistently favorable coverage. ESPN employs at least two over the top ND homers, but also has some going the opposite direction.
5) You are referring to fan opinions. I would imagine both coaching staffs are expecting a tight game.

Of course I'm referring to fan predictions. We are fans. The coaches aren't on here.
Too early to really tell. These next few weeks will really highlight who is good and who isn't.
As JD stated, most likely the best D's we have played thus far are: KSU, and Tech.
It is also worth mentioning, a good D in the B12 is different than a good D in other divisions. The B12 is a offensive juggernaut in many respects, therefore the "stats" often don't tell the real story.
I would say we have talent on both sides of the ball. I would say you do too. We will see who has more in a matter of days.
I am one of the ones predicting OU to cover.
Let me try another way for you, I tend not to be surprised by over the top "fan" based hyperbole.
You will at about 10:45 pm on Saturday night.
I guess playing big 10 schools shows just how good ND is also.
Big 10 schools are better than D2 schools.
ND has also played and shut down ACC schools and PAC 10 schools.

Are they actually really though? Lets ask Michigan about that.
"With Nebraska trying to leave, we felt like we needed to send them out with a loss, and we did." -Ryan Broyles-
Better question how many teams have you guys played that could beat Tech. I'll take this one the answer is 0!
And your D is good because every team you have played has a pitiful offense? To answer your question we have played 1 good defense and that number will still be 1 after this weekend.
#6 Notre Dame
#7 Texas Tech
Notre Dame has not played anyone in the Top 50 in Total Offense.
TEXASS may not be playing the part and that is the mystery of the universe, I would bet they have more 5 star recruits on defense than OU or ND combined.
I'm curious as well shepard, how many good offensive teams has nd played?
ksu, and then tt.
ksu is a really good team. you can't spot a really good team 14 points when they are on. that was the difference.
as for tt, they are probably stronger on d than anything nd has seen this season.
also, our d stats are skewed high because of the stats given up by our second team in the 4th qtr. our first team d has been damn good and is getting better every week. call me crazy but i think our d could end up scoring more points than nd's offense on saturday. our d is capable of being a big problem and no one is really talking about them being the difference.

Since you want to ask a question under feigned ignorance, I will do the same:
How many good offenses has Notre Dame played?
Who is Lizzy Seeberg?
Better question is, How many good defenses has Norte Dame played this season?
"It's better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all." FDR
Well the question may be what are the rankings based on.....
OU has played offensive ranks (total yds/game):
#11 Texas Tech
??? Florida A&M (I-AA)
Notre Dame has played:
#88 Michigan State
So NDs Def is ranked where it is by playing mediocre offenses... No one in the top 53, and 4 ranked 80+
This guys a dick(troll), just looking for an argument. Don't take the bait.
