The trend is that teams who just miss out on BCS bowls tend to not play well in their bowl games. Plus, Texas A&M is a very trendy team across the country right now. I'm not surprised people have been betting on A&M. Not saying I would, I just realize how things work in the betting world.

The SEC effect. Even if you are a former middle of the pack team from the Big 12 you are mystically transformed by these three letters - S-E-C! S-E-C! I too cherish the underdog role for the Sooners.
That being said isn't aTm a top ranked team that just missed out on a bcs bowl too? Dies that mean neither team wants to be there and both play badly?
If we lose, the worst part about the loss will be the SEC chant that is a guaranteed to happen.
Sooners by 10 in this one.
We win if we figure out a way to tackle the Football (Johnny, that is). Tackling evasive quarterbacks has been somewhat of a problem this year.
Like aTm by a FG in this one.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
He has an odd body shape for a kicker to say the least.
Being an SEC team is not why A&M is the favorite. A&M is the favorite because A&M is the better, higher ranked team.
Oh, and last year doesn't matter. A&M hired a new head coach, new coordinators and new assistants. A&M also has a new QB. Different team than last year, just like when OU rid itself of Blake and hired Stoops. Coaching matters. A&M finally figured that out.
That said, the SEC will matter to an extent. In the past, your defense would be the fastest and maybe biggest A&M would see in a given year. This year A&M has seen much bigger, faster and more talented defenses. Things change.
That said, good luck in the Cotton Bowl. And, thanks for not being weak a$$, punks like the whorns.

Follow the rest of the lemmings off cliff if you must, but OU by at least 10 in this game. A&M's Defense still stinks and the only teams that beat OU this season had defenses that are much, much better than what will be seen in Jerry World.
