eli manning threw 3 first half interceptions, that doesnt mean he sucks!! Landry Jones does not suck, he has won some BIG games for us with his arm!! he just hasnt been the same since wilson left
I thought crowd was great tonight. The problem was our lame OC and our lame QB.. Bottom line they both suck... Call it like you see it, but look at Laundrys lame numbers thus far this season.... Terrible!!!
Sorry, but you're surely not stupid enough to think that the lack of an O Line and D Line didn't factor in???
OKC Thunder, your defense of Landry is ridiculous. He was terrible. Certainly, there were other areas that we need to improve on but Landry lost this game on his own. He gave them 7 points on the fumble. He missed a wide open tight end in the end zone on the first drive. He got lucky that they didn't rule it a fumble at our 10 yard line. He threw 1 interception and should have had 2 more picked. He was pathetic as he typically is in big games.
so Landry doesnt get the benefit of the doubt in the fumble? He didnt know that defender was behind him as he tried to evade the defender coming right at him. He was trying to get outside the tackles so he could throw it away, give the def player the credit for hitting ball out of his hands...
He had protection and perfect pocket on the fumble but he freaked and ran out of safety to trouble. How can the RT block when QB runs out of the pocket. Watch it again as I have over and over and it was Landry's fault not the Line. Landry was as bad, bad, bad tonight. Oline is not great and dline is not even close to great, but landry's play was even worse than the LBs which is saying something.
LJ has won a lot of games at OU Big Deal! He is not competitive! He not a winner or a leader! Since 1999 OU has had two QB that are Josh and Sam.. LJ, since Broyles when down has went backwards in his progression as a QB. He will be a high school coach in 5 years. There is NO way he is a first round QB in the NFL.. he is a fast ball thrower that when he is not pressured he can make a pass. Tonight, he did not protect the ball and cost OU 7pts, then and INT for 7. I can no longer try and defend him. When was the last time he beat a good football team? Dont say FSU that was all defense! Blake Bell is not the answer.. I have no idea if he can even throw a ball. If they used him OU could be come KSU.
LJ has a lot of work to do looking at anyone besides 4 its so predictable KSU double covered Stills and LJ still over threw him or under threw him.
OU needs a competitive winner! Not a stats guy that wins vs. ISU, KU, and so on!
I'm hell when I'm well.. And, I am never sick!
He should have stayed in the pocket but ran like a wussy into trouble. He had protection but he is no Klein and fears the pressure.
And an even more stupid follow up.
I said Landry didn't play great, and could have won if he either he or the rest of the team played better. I'm just saying...it's not like we're going to suddenly turn into 'Bama if we get rid of Landry. He's good enough to win a NC if the rest of the team steps up, too. Kind of reminds me of the past few years when people would say, "If ONLY we had Mike Stoops back..." - well, guess what? He's back, and our D still isn't up there with Alabama and LSU. Shocking.
But to humor you...
Landry was running for his life all night and got some bad snaps. But go ahead and blame Habern retiring on him, too.
Blake Bell also lost us 7 points on his fumble.
I knew that wasn't a fumble on the 10 when they slowed it down (he held it long enough to change directions and push it forward.)
And how quickly Landry's big games are forgotten! You don't rewrite OU's record book by sucking. In 3 bowl games he has 3 wins (including a BCS bowl), +1000 yards, and 7 TDs to 3 INTs. Bradford was 0-2 with worse stats. He's also had a number of big regular season games (OSU and Nebraska in '10 come to mind, but there are others).
verdict: OU's problem is bigger than Landry. Simple as that.

PS, Mike is playing with Brent's small LBs who can't fight off blocks, take bad angles and can't cover. I would let him recruit before I pass judgement. Landry still sucks though.
LJ does have three bowl game wins, but let's not act like OU was playing top notch competition.
1. Sun Bowl, average Stanford playing without it's best player.
2. Fiesta Bowl, playing an UCONN team that had no business being in a BCS game.
3. Insight Bowl, beat a mediocre Iowa team.
LJ will have lot's of great records, he's started more games at QB than any other QB in the history of Oklahoma Football.
It's amazing that a QB at a school that ran the ball for 50 years will be the all time passing leader after attempting more passes and playing in more games than any other QB in school history.
I'm a real adult fan, not like all you other spoiled babies. You don't know anything about me, but I can make wild accusations about you.
Sorry, you're right. I forgot how good WVU was in 07. They beat a basement SEC team and a few C-USA and Big East teams.
HE WILL NEVER PLAY IN THE NFL......EVER....YOUR SMOKING CRACK IF YOU THINK THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN.
Lots of crap happened last night to be sure including continued, inexplicable use of TOs by this highly paid staff, uncovered WRs on 3rd down, etc.
Two plays cost this game from being a comfortable OU win. LJs fumble for a TD and BB's fumble at the one. 14 point swing that pushes KSU out of their standard O if we execute.
LJ is what he is a below average QB (by OU standards) who does not react well to pressure. Josh is simply in over his head right now...we have no identity on O. Defensively our front 7 is not Big 12 caliber.
The talk about losing Wilson is interesting, however, I have wondered how much it hurts Landry NOT to have Josh on the sidelines when Landry comes off the field.
His freshman and sophomore years, he had Josh to talk to and Calm him Down when he came to the sidelines. From what I saw last night on TV, Landry looks a little lost when he comes to the sidelines. I didn't see him pulling the offense together or anyone talking to him.
I don't know the personalities, but that seems like an unusual way for a Leader to Lead.
Are you serious? Are you comparing WV to UConn, Iowa, and Stanford? In '07 WV was one play away from playing for the NC.
Agree. I thought the OLine actually played fairly well. Landry was making bad throws withOUT anyone pressuring him.
Now the Dline is a different story. The rush was essentially non existent.
i gave u the upvote .. great post
Good point about having Josh on the sideline. I asked that same question three weeks ago, mainly as a suggestion to improve on his play calling. Yet, I don't believe there is any doubt that Landry would benefit from the move. Something is definitely wrong somewhere.
A heartbreaking loss aside, watching last night's game was an exercise in frustration. The team was so out of sync and disorganized at times, one had to ask "what the hell have our coaches been doing the past two weeks?" Think we could have used at least three unnecessary time outs at the end of the game?
What we saw was anything but a well-coached, well-prepared team. Even our defense collapsed when it counted the most in the fourth quarter. But who can blame them? They carried the load of an offense that committed one miscue after another the entire game.
And, yes, Landry Jones was leading the way. He said it best in the post game interview: "I played terrible!"
I thought his protection was pretty good, especially for a team that does not consistently run the ball to keep the pressure off. What drives me crazy is how he starts shuffling around when there is defender within 10 yards of him. There have been so many times the last four years that he starts to move outside the pocket at the first hint of pressure. Good quarterbacks also look for the opportunity to step up in the pocket and he has those same opportunties. I have never seen a veteran quarterback with a worse sense of when there is pressure and when there is not.
I have been saying it for 3 years now. He locks in on one reciever forces throws and absolutly shits his pants when their is pressure on him as evidance last night. I guarantee you guys if any of the other QB's on the roster played last night we win that game. I love Stoops but my eyes tell me Landry is not the answer. Bob will never replace him so as sooner fans we have to wait till next year1! WHAT A SHAME because we have serious talent to win it all, but not a chance with Landry Jones !!!!!
I'm tired of hearing about how great Landry was in the Fiesta Bowl TWO YEARS AGO. He's not that QB anymore. Plus, let's be real, that uconn team sucked. Bradford played a WVU team that was ranked #2 on the final week of the season and Florida in a national title game. It's a complete slap in the face to Bradford, who won a Heisman to be compared to Jones. A better comparison is Hybl. An alright QB who didn't have "it".
