I still really like Novell and I've always liked bobby jack. I'm torn on huepell Offense been really potent at times. I wonder if the game hasn't passed up mike stoops defense. What do you think
Don't know that I would fire Heupel but would definitely demote him back to QB coach and remove play calling responsibilities. It is too soon to judge on Mike. Our 99 defense would've looked just as bad against some of these offenses. Shipp needs to be on notice. We haven't had an outstanding defensive tackle since Gerald McCoy. No excuse for that. BJW is good and always has been. I never understood the Kish hire...seems kind of old to be recruiting 18-year old kids but Nick Saban is 60+ so I say give him some time too. Kittle never should have been hired in the first place. It still blows my mind that we hired a guy who had never been in a paid coaching position and I think it's the one thing that most evidences Stoops having too much power and needing a strong AD that he actually answers to. Gundy and Norvell are the most effective and productive coaches on our staff in my opinion. Patton can take a walk as far as I'm concerned. I'm tired of watching the other team's DL make tackles on running plays while our interior OL pick themselves up off the ground.

Thanks Hudson for your reply. I really agree 100% with your ideals. Though I wish we could afford a really proven offensive coordinator that really knew how to call plays on a really consistent basis . I wish they could figure out how to install that toughness into the team too we just don't seem to have that mauling defense with attitude. I really hope mike can make a shutdown defense over the next few years. I've always been a huge mike stoops fan. But honestly my faith in him is shaken
We can afford it. Our head coach is among the three or four highest paid in the country so I'm sure there's money there for assistants. Stoops just won't do it. He's too busy hiring his buddies and promoting from within.
Bob won't fire anyone and nobody will be leaving. Josh? I'm not sure is ready and I knew he wasn't last year. He has had the luxury of a 4 year starting QB to bail him out. Next year could be ugly. Mike? Bob won't fire his brother. Patton? Who wants him? (he would be my first choice). Kish? Mike's whipping boy-he won't be going anywhere.
I've actually heard the osu's coaching staff is among the highest paid and our is way down the list. I can't confirm but if you care enough check it out.
If this is the case then Stoops needs to take a pay cut and hire a kick ass staff. I'm tired of this bunch of keystone kops. Joe C needs to wake up and remember that he is the AD and put pressure on Stoops to go out and hire the best staff he can assemble...not promote former players and hire his college best friend the lawyer.
I'm really tired of shipps ineffective DT's!
He needs to go!
We are Oklahoma! This is not good enough!

More than likely no one is being let go. To answer you question, Kittle, I would not need two OL coaches. I can not argue with the talent Patton has put in the league. I would let Kish go and hire a young diverse coach that can recruit. Lastly I would keep Josh as co-OC but let Norvell call the plays.
Shipp, Patton, Josh, BJW, Kish, Kittle and Mike Stoops all need to go. To me Norvell is the only coach on the staff that is doing his job.

On this board you must agree with everyone or you're wrong.
BJW is an excellent D-line coach, he has proven that year after year. Having 2 O-line coaches is like having 2 QB's, If you have 2, you really have none. Heupel needs to be demoted simply because he can't get the plays in in time. What a joke this has become, 3 or 4 delay of games per half. And I hate to say it but Bob looks like he is out of answers on the sideline.
maybe we should hire a recruiting coordinator
Every other coach is on notice
Guys remember we all know nothing about football!!Go Sooners!!!
Gundy is our recruiting coordinator and RB coach.
I would keep Gundy, Norvell for sure.... Only two on the staff doing their job.
Very very short leach... Shipp, BJW, Patton, M.Stoops, Kish (one year contract)
Demotion or move on... Josh(QB coach)
Time ask you to leave.. Kittle and bring in in OC or give the job to Norvell, he has earned it.
I'm hell when I'm well.. And, I am never sick!
you could be right at least 90% don't no on this board but they can sure fix the problems . BOOMER SOONER
Come on people, Bob Stoops is a great above average coach, period. His recent coaching hires have been lame at best. Now he is a lame duck coach. Charlie Strong turned down Tenn and some other ops because he likes what he has there in Louisville. Fine, give him another year there and then hire him away. Regarding our current coaching staff, don't let Stoops make any new hires or contract extensions because they are all gone at the end of next year. Did anyone see Spencer Tillmans tweet? He wants us to clean house this year, but there is no one available.
"RT @SpenceTillman: Our play is disinterested and soft! Time to clean house!!!!!!! This isn't Sooner Football! Sorry Sooner Nation! Nobody loves them more.
I never played at the level he did, I don't study to the level he can but I certainly echo his feelings.

Polity and don't listen to public outcries.....why would coaches! When people stop going to the games with hope in their hearts, only then will they get it!
"Well...that oughta hold 'em for the next decade or so..." - Barry Switzer
That should read.....politicians don't listen...
We need a big, fat (330 + lb.), mean OL coach who has actually played the position.
Hire Pat Hill, the old Fresno State coach, who seemed to get 300% from his players.
