I think its time for Joe C to have a deep conversation with our HBC and find out where his thoughts are, meanwhile our oc has to give serious thought about moving another direction with the qb position, if you have a bye week to increase the reps and i would work him in with a ball control run game, and work in the pass....this team still has alot in front of it and with the right coaching i saw alot of positives too yesterday..wow sterling sheppard is a baller!
Demote Heup to QB coach, get him on the sidelines. Fire either Patton or Kittle then go get some guy that is the WR coach for Norman north,I believe his track record is pretty good, all he did was guide us to two national title games.
On one hand, we could be Arkansas!!! On the other, we are slowly turning into an Arkansas, little by little. We can't tackle, we can't block. The QB sucks, the coaching sucks and the recruiting is going downhill.
The worst thing could be where we end up this year. We will beat Kansas and I'm not sure of anyone else as far as an automatic win.We could end up,maybe 6 and 6 or we could possibly be 8 and 4 at the best. Texas is getting better, TT will be tough at Lubbock, WVU-well I am glad I am not going. TCU is unbeaten, OSU could be tough even at Norman and I think we will win at Norman against ISU. Notre Dame and Baylor are unbeaten.
Other than the season, our recruiting is 32nd and we didn't get a commitment this weekend.
A few NFL-caliber lineman on both sides of the ball make coaches look like geniuses, while the lack of those guys make coaches look like our's last night.
It's always the Jimmy's and Joe's. Don't kid yourself about that. Stoops doesn't win a thing in 2000 without our maligned OC, T Marshall and a bunch of Blake's recruits.
Until recently I've been a defender of our coaching staff, but I agree with the need for coaching changes, still not either of the Stoops' yet.Because despite his lack of fire Bob is still a good CEO and runs a clean program and Mike is still the fiery guy he needs standing behind him. If OU can pay Bob $5 million, we ought to look at how we recruit and pay our assistants, particularly our coordinators. Why not cough up $1 million and go out to hire the best offensive coordinator we can find, maybe even someone with NFL experience and upgrade our other assistants too while we're at it. Bob won't do that without pressure from Boren and Castiglione who can be influenced by the Big Buck alumni. That will make recruiting easier too, because today's star HS athletes are looking for coaching staffs that can get them big bucks by being selected early in the NFL draft. Big time college football is no more than a stepping stone to the NFL, thats why the Alabamas, LSUs USCs and Floridas continue to recruit well irrespective of their actual records. They puts lots of first round draft choice in the NFL. We've only done that once in the Stoops era and that was they year when Bradford, McCoy, Williams and Gresham were all picked as first rounders. USC, LSU, Ohio State and Alabama have had multiple first rounders and lots of second round picks three or four times over the last decade.
I agree that our OL and DL play has become ordinary if not downright mediocre -- when they were recruited both McFarland and RJ were five star players that everyone wanted but neither has lived up to his potential --- so now it appears we're like Uterus and these all-stars don't improve once they come to OU, except that Uterus still gets the cream of the crop and we do not, and their new coordinators have made it easier for an only better than average coach like Mack Brown to turn things around quickly. If some steps aren't taken to improve the coaching staff we will continue to see OU lose games they shouldn't be losing and we will find ourselves not only being left out of the National Championship picture but being also rans in the Big 12.
OU in LA I've respected your perspective since your days as a moderator on the old site even when we've disagreed,, but I'm in So Cal and I no longer have the sources inside the athletic department and University Administration that I once had. PM me as I'm anxious to know more about your encounters with Coach Stoops.
You think Joe c can say anything to stoops?
Since 2002, OU has played for the national championship THREE times. Do you have any idea how ridiculous your post is. I agree that there are clearly some problems, and in particular, I think we need some better recruiters. But, despite this current apparent slide, Bob is still one of the best coaches in the game. I think he's guilty, more than anything, of putting the offense into the hands of a QB that clearly, without Broyles, isn't an elite player.
I haven't read this golden thread yet - pretty funny stuff.
Stupidest question ever posted on here! And thats really saying something.

Soonerest that was a hoot of a reply LMAO!
This thread did bring most of them out of the woodwork. I'll give you some "constructive" input SoonerDowns and it's MY OPINION so here it is- NO! Maybe Patton, but otherwise no. Also, for some of you others- NO our players do NOT suck!
what i find interesting is that it took four weeks to do what the average fans already knew OU had to do to win.
Run the ball more
