I was really impressed with Coach Kelly's interview. Very straight forward with no "coach speak". Also, very complimentary of Coach Stoops and the Sooner football program. He seemed as though he was not just blowing smoke.
I also thought he was honest in his assessment of the match-ups.
Seemed to be a good guy
"America is a country that was designed by geniuses so that it could be run by idiots.”
Thanks for the heads up...if you get a chance and don't mind, could you provide a little more detail as to what his views are of the matchups specifically? thanks!
I am curious as well. There secondary is VERY suspect.
Additionally, I think many underestimate our run D.
As an addition, I did hear Kelly say a day or two ago that he'd really rather run a nickel/dime defense this week more, but he doesn't have the players to do it. Not a vote of confidence to be sure.
I respect what he did at cinci and thought he was the right man for notre dame.
that said,i didnt like the little "head game" and remarks post game when cinci came in here..re Stoops record at home, which Stoops there on the field pregame didnt bring up KELLLLEY did, in a snarky way when commenting on the sell out crowd. and Bob proudly said OU had been selling out games for some time now, adn then Kelly walking away, snarked back the record 56-1? or whatever..
come on...i can still respect him for what he does with his team, but i thought that needling wasnt necessary.
of course it could be worse ...he could be a non handshaker or the Idaho State coach LOL.
just a little thing that got under my skin back then.
sooooo, being born in 1957, i want OU's only other win so far to come now, for me!!!! not really, this team has come together after the KSU debacle of turnovers, and i know Notre Dame will be back in their "darling of the media" mode, so i want a Sooner Stompdown, and a Landry Explosion!
He was very complimentary of OU and the Stoops program. He said ND is not yet at that level, but that is what he hopes to achieve. Nothing but respect and the anticipation of a very hard fought game. He said they would try to slow the game down however they could.
Here is a quote from ESPN’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd Wednesday morning, Brian Kelly said, “We’re trying to be a consistent program. We want to be part of the discussion not just one year, we want to do it each and every year. Look at Oklahoma. They’ve been there every single year. That’s the level that we’ve got to get this football program, not just one year where I get to go on your show and talk about Notre Dame football. I want to be able to do this every single year. This is about building a consistent football team.
