ESPN ticker reporting that Boise State is in talks with the MWC about staying. That does not surprise me considering the state of the Big East right now. With the basketball defections and the loss of AQ BCS status after 2013, what's the attraction for anyone to join them, especially for a team whose campus is so far away from most of the current Big East football schools?
Yep, this is a tough one for BSU, they come back with hat in hand... they are slowly moving back to the reality of football irrelevance...
I'm not sure if it's completely a hat in hand situation. The MWC would be quite a bit better off with BSU than without.
Never understood them moving to begin with. If they get Boise, BYU and add Utah State to the AF, Fresno and Hawaii trio, that conference blows the big east out of the water.
Agreed. The MWC has a real opportunity to add some solid teams to a potentially solid Tier II type conference. Although it wouldn't have any headliners like many BCS conferences, it would be respectable and would be a good strategic move considering top conferences are locked down (not expanding)...not to mention the locations of the teams make sense.
Hope the MWC makes them pay about $5M to join back. After they dumped them for supposedly greener pastures!
