Given the new receiver and all the depth we have, why not look at moving this guy to defense where we need "playmakers ". I'm not sure if he's even played defense, but he's 6' 3" and 210lbs , strong and very athletic and could possibly be a safety or backer. As Switzer used to say, he damn sure passes the eye test!!
Otherwise, he's a waist at receiver given all the talent. Find a way to get him on the field and defense might make sense?

You want to take a player who is starting to come on as noted by increased playing time and performance and move him mid season to a position he has never played before? Glad ur not a coach. In case u haven't noticed our defense has been playing fairly good and I only expect to get better.
We could very well see Damon Williams moved to guard but that is probably the only possible change from off/def or visa versa and that is for depth.
Relax 82, the guy has played like 10 snaps and his playing time is probably going down with the addition of Saunders. He's a great athlete that might help on defense where we need " playmakers " , which are usually guys that have a lot of his measurements and abilities.
Moving him to defense is going to affect the offense , so relax for me ok!
I'm not sure he would be up for it. Wasn't he a transfer? If he was then he has 2 years to play, and if you move him now it will take a year to learn the defense. So then the kid has 1 year to hopefully learn and compete at whatever position you see him at. IMO that would be a waste spending time teaching someone a position they may or may not play for one season. Just my 2cents
Can he put on 80 pounds real quick and learn to play DT even quicker??
I kid, I kid.....
If there was anyone I would have wanted to move to defense when they arrived, it would have been Millard to MLB.
There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
Probably not, oh, but wait... Stacy McGee would fit nicely.
Trey Franks' speed at safety would be cool. He might be able to keep up with Marquise Goodwin.
Miss Jaz Reynolds one-handed catches...
It has been reported several times here that Stills wants to go pro after is jr year. I hope he doesnt and I also think it would be to his advantage to come back for his sr year because he hasnt improved his stock and he still has a lot of maturing to do.
Can he play DT?
Lol, you sound like poliical sean on kref. Had Millard been a college lb, they would have put him there a long time ago. LB is a much more important, skilled position than fb. It's also a much better path to the nfl.
I too miss the one handed catches. However, I don't miss all of the two handed drops.
Bester played QB prior to becoming a receiver and I think those guys tend to make good DBs. Considering his size, you would think safety. However, I agree with others that because he is a juco it would be a tough move to make by next year.
I doubt he gets much playing time now that Saunders is eligible. Hopefully he will continue to be a big time special teams player.
He would have been a good MLB. Moves well, brings the wood, smart, athletic and big. It would have been Lance Mitchell part 2.
Then why isn't he there? If he had the ability, he would be there. He would be begging to move to lb, they make much more money in the nfl. You must be political sean.
Nah, not sean. Like i said, if he was put at MLB he would have been a good one. Why isnt he? I guess he wanted to play offense. The coaches obviously wanted him to play offense. So, that why. Im cool with it, but he would have been a stud at MLB too. Or, did they try him there and he whiffed? Maybe you know something we dont. Otherwise, the only reason I can say he isnt at MLB are what I stated above.
Re T. Millard, I recall that everyone offered the kid as a LB, but he was interested in being a fullback. He liked what OU had done with its fullback position over the years. Based upon his special teams play, he would have been a very good MLB.
Don't know but he acts and plays like a linebacker. If he is good at linebacker as fullback we would have been better off as a team.
We lost out when Tapko had to quit for medical reasons. He was a bigger stronger version of Millard. I had a friend who watched them battle in a high school basketball game. He said it was a bunch of fun watching two strong guys go at it.
Nope...not sure if you have ever played, but switching sides of the ball is EXTREMELY difficult. He is not wasting away at WR. He will contribute IMO, but time will be the true determiner of how much.
Hmmmm .......... I don't remember seeing Bester on the field and we won by 40 points! This guy isn't going to break the line up on offense given the number of talented receivers we have now and the one coming in next year. Move the guy to defense and see if he can become a safety - hybrid linebacker. The guy has all the measurements so get him out their to where he can use his speed and strength to make a few plays.
Start him off on kick and punt coverage to see if he will hit someone. Otherwise, he's not going to see the field except for blowouts.
He was on the field yesterday, even caught a pass, and he was on kick coverage. They changed his # to 81 so he and Hunnicutt could be on the field together.
