Pundits are stating that these are Not the same team that played in the Big 12. We really don't know yet because La. Tech hung over a half hundred on them and the SEC play very Little Offense. I guess we will find out on Jan 4th. I like our chances!

It's the same team, with a better coach, and a little kicker-turned-QB Manziel who looks like an absolute gamer. They'll be very tough.
We went to the wire against West Virginia, Boone State and TCU. Each game was decided in the last minute. ATm is better than any of them. This will be tough.
True Rock, we went out of our way to keep all three in the game with mistakes and will not have that luxury with Sumlin's team. Mistake free pedal to the metal high pressure football should get it done.
It seems to me that A&M has a totally different attitude and mentality than they had in their years in the Big 12. Sumlin and the move to the SEC were a huge part of that, and having a potential heisman winner doesnt hurt either. My point is, it doesnt seem like this the "The same old Texas A&M."

.........I'm having bad visions of atm going five wide, send them deep to clear out, and jf running draws and scrambling for first downs all day, resulting in a really gassed ou d

OU's defensive line will have to play very well. There's no doubt about that.
A month to rest, get well and get better and the motivation is there, lots of reasons to be amped to play well and win this game. This is not Boise, Connecticut or WVU so no excuse not to be up for the game. I think this will be a very physical contest and like our chances.
A&M has an advantage IMO. Sumlin knows Stoops defense like the back of his palm, and Manziel's mobility will be a big factor in the 2nd half. The OU DL destroyed Boykin in the 1st half and got dog tired in the 2nd half. Landry and the offense need to score plenty and often early.
Sumlin is the difference, not the move to SEC. The only thing the same with them though is they still can't win their division or conference.... B12 OR sec.

If OU just won the Big 12, A&M won their Big 12 Division year before last.
Looking forward to the game next month. Good luck.
I never mentioned anything about OU or that I thought A&M would win. All I was pointing out is that it seems there's a lot more comfident attitude around Aggieland.
The La Tech get thrown at us all the time. Wasn't one of our finer moments. BUT--we were without 3 starters on defense (2 suspensions and 1 injury) for that game only.
Both teams are going to score a lot of points, but if you are expecting an Baylor type of defense, you might look at the rest of our schedule--in particular pat attention to point allowed in the first half. We had a few blowouts where the starters on offense and defense were pulled after the first series of the second half (Auburn, Arkansas, Sam Houston, SMU, South Carolina State--Miss State might have gone to end of the third quarter). Point is--this is probably an average to above average defense when all starters are playing for a full game. Probably 2 first round picks in Demontre Moore and Sean Porter. Depth is the big problem. After our starters plus nickel and dime guys, it gets thin really quick.
The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.
I think it's more the DE's than the DT's. Same with LB's. How your outside guys react to movement to the outside will be key. Our O-line is a strength.
We have to.hit them.in the mouth early.
His is a true test for both teams. If our offense clicks at a high level, we will win. It all rides on the offense right now because the defense is going to be stressed to the tune of 40-50 points. That's what we need to prepare for, to be so good offensively that we can win a shootout.
What I will be focusing on is how we plan to contain Johnie's run game? Hopefully Tevon Austin taught us a bit about giving athletes space.
I feel if we can get him passing we will force turnovers. He has a tendency to have Brett Favre style bad games, and I know that MS is working very hard on an A&M gameplan. We'll see.
It comes down to Jones on offense and MS on defense. We win both we win the game.

Contain, contain, contain jf, be stingy against the run game and make jf try to beat us with his arm. Meanwhile, score all we can.
Actually they didn't cause I don't recall them playing in the Big 12 championship game and correct me if I'm wrong, but if you win your division you play in the championship game correct?
"With Nebraska trying to leave, we felt like we needed to send them out with a loss, and we did." -Ryan Broyles-
I am concerned that with our offense, a month layoff always means NOT clicking. We always come out rusty on offense when they haven't played games every week. At least Oline has a few weeks to heal. I fear that we will take a quarter or two to knock the rust off and it will be too late.
+1 And if you win the championship, you go to a BCS bowl game.

You sound fair to me, because you guys haven't played the prolific Offense's like in the Big 12. I saw on Fox where an Aggie stated you guys was going to pay us back for the 77-0 game and put 80 on us. I know their are crazy fans everwhere, My wife's Boss is an Aggie here in Oregon and we both agree it should be a Shootout and fun to watch. Good Luck!
Relax fellas, itll be a good game, but you wont be on the edge of your seat like you were aginat WV, OSU or TCU. 38-24 range, OU wins
There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
I didn't think this was a good match up for OU for several reasons. 1) Our defense, 2) their mobile QB, 3) their home state, 4) they are tougher by playing in the SEC 5) Great coach and motivator in Sumlin 6) Bigger game for them than us-I really question our motivation right now. We thought we would be in the Sugar and now go 3 hours down the road. All in all, I'd rather play LSU. Having said that, I think OU will have a very, very difficult time. Stopping their offense and hoping our offense isn't rusty. (one of the disadvantages of running the spread). Everyone thinks it will be a great game and it could. But it could just as easily get ugly-for the wrong side.
1 I think our D will show up , 2 we played some mobile QB an did a fair job , 3 we did pretty good playing in that state this year ,4 people seem to be scared when they here sec you mean Kansas would be great by playing in this conf. , 5 we have a great coach an motivator , 6 don't we want to show everybody we can beat the great sec . i think it will be a tough game but we win . an why would our OF be rusty but there's wouldn't be . i cant see one good thing you said about OU so you just gave up is that it . BOOMER SOONER
I think A&M will come to this game more confident than any game against OU in a long time. I can't make up my mind if that will be good for us or bad for us.
One thing I do know, is that you show up over confident for a bowl game, you can get embarrassed.
Aren't all SEC teams supposed to beat Big XII teams by just showing up?
I doubt any of our guys will want to tackle a Heisman Trophy winner.
