Good luck Brent and family and know that you will be missed.
Best of luck to Brent & his family !! I would always see him & his kids out playing when I ran with my dog,& he & his kids would always come over & say high & pet my dog..Norman is losing a great family!!I wish them well!!!
I'm sorry that we lost him, but I feel he made the right decision for himself and his family if he wants the opportunity for a head coaching position. Brent,I hope your back here someday. Maybe, the best recruiter I have seen in this era.
It is disappointing that OU was not the best for his career. I will say SC is a very nice place, arguably more talent in the close vicinity, and the gameday atmosphere is quite something at Clemson. They have better academics and a beach that isn't far away. But with all that said, wow...this is a big loss IMO. It is disappointing that OU couldn't offer a better career.
OU should use this as a wake up call. There is A LOT of room for improvement in many areas to make it a can't miss destination for careers.
I agree albsooner it is a wake up call for OU that you being comfortable with your situation is not good for the program!!You should always be looking for an advantage to excell your program!!Go Sooners!!!!
Easy to see his decision to me. Football tradition advantage OU. This specific circumstance..opportunity..advantage Clemson..ie awkwardness with Mike coming back although I think personally Mike and Brent get along fine..more perception issue for Brent externally since he is still fairly young and aspires to be the head guys somewhere someday.
Climate, scenary, beach, predictability of weather advantage Clemson. Cost of living...doesn't matter at $~800k annually in either OK or SC. Lastly he can certainly win big at Clemson they have had great recruiting the last few years more so on Offense than D but they have a staff of good recruiters already ala Sammy Watkins best Freshman Wide out in a long time..and he can do great in the ACC. Good Luck Brent..thank you for all your contributions. Time to move on we will be fine.
Live On University!
I have followed OU football since the days of Bud, and I feel strongly tha Brent was one of OU's finest coaches and persons in the history of the program. I saw a different side of him with my young grandson in the OU football camp. Wish him the very best!
Wish Brent and family the best, but don't care much for Clemson. The only good things about South Carolina are Charleston, Myrtle Beach and the scenes from The Patriot. Nough said. Go Hokies!
PS- will Brent send Dana Holgerson a Thank You note?
It's always a big factor when you have a lot of talent nearby when you are married with kids. Give me a break.
we will be better on defense !!!!
No animosity towards brent but I'm glad there's a change. The sooners need new life and enthusiasm from the coaches, players, and fans. Last season at the games was dull and uninspired. If next season is a dud too then I won't be surprised to see it as the beginning of the end of the stoops era. When was the last time sooner fans actually felt the magic?
We will miss his personality and recruting skills more than any of us reallize at this time .
