He looked like he has good speed and good moves. He didn't look very thick body-wise. He also looked like he had too much caffeine. Since he was in the game for the first time, he needed to settle down and let the game come to him. He and Blake Bell both looked like their hearts were racing at supersonic speed, and they needed to settle down. He is not ready to play a major role when the game is on the line until he can settle down some. He was fidgety even when he got up off of the ground after a carry. He didn't look like he knew what to do with himself. I believe he will settle down and will have a super career at OU. Some of the big time backs that played as freshmen like AD and Marcus Dupree acted like they belonged and used their skills while playing under control. Brandon is not there.

I'd have to agree. He was clearly dealing with nerves. His first opportunity to touch the ball was a pass to the flat where he was wide open and short-armed it for a drop. He was also pretty spin-move happy with his first few touches even at times when it didn't help him any, which I attribute to nerves and trying to do too much. Later on he settled down and jsut ran the ball, and was suddenly a lot more effective. He has a very high ceiling but is still rough around the edges, which is what you'd expect for a true freshman.

He's got speed, moves and instinct. He lacks strength, but then he's just a baby. He's a true freshman for God's sake. He need to develop and he will, but damn he's got some talent. My lineup would be: Whaley, Finch, Williams and Clay- in that order.

Maybe we'll see Williams added to the KO return game--that's one area we need a spark in. Whaley was back their last night, but I didn't get any impressions yet of what kind of impact he'll make there.BSU didn't score enough to provide that opportunity. I think they only KO 3X and one was an on sides attempt.

Clay is clearly the 2nd best overall back. Excellent power, pass catching and pass protector that does not fumble. Some of you guys get a woody every time a guy shows some quickness and throw every thing else out. What you are calling instincts looks more like a lack of patience and a lack of maturity to let holes open up, something Clay does a great job with. No doubt, Williams has potential but he has quite a bit to learn. His situation is like Finch last year, which BTW got passed by Clay.
At this point, I would play Whaley, Clay, Finch, Williams - in that order, which coincidentally is how Gundy sees it.
